55 minutes, photoshop. Not quite satisfied with the result, I would need more time:-)

55mn, Photoshop.. Didn't get finished at all.. didn't even have enough time to try and rough out the terrain at the bottom... supposed to be on a ledge overlooking giant mushrooms, but I don't think that comes through. :P
Will try to finish it, but wanted to post this with an example of the voting link.

Myridiphis: nice colors, and picture, but, try to separate more the foreground and the backgroung, playing with some value changes, and color changes, not tooo saturated far away.

Wexter: Thanx for advice. I always have the troubles with creating the illusion of depth. I like your post, how do you manage to end up with such "clean" result with nice sharp edges?
Creeto: Wow, great atmosphere!

well, first of all thanks for the comments. and answering to your question Myridiphis, the only way to achieve nice edges is for me to work first of all in a res of 2000 pixels and up, using some unsharp mask or sharpening filter, and working with some selections on points of interest.

Wexter, u rule! :buttrock:

About an hour in Painter X
I tried to imagine an alien from the movies taking over a tree instead of humans. I don't think this one is very successful, it was mostly a struggle with some unfamiliar tools. I was also trying to work by starting with mostly monochromatic color. I don't think that works for me. I will be going back to doing a grayscale image and then coloring it.

So I don't even know where this one took me. 45 min is all I had... Background was scanned in, I had a different direction in the beginning and it took me elsewhere. Painter 11. Next time, I'll ink by hand and scan in rather than do digital ink... just faster and more comfortable inking by hand... color digitally.

Advarsky, really nice one! :) Reminds me of one of Gary Tonge's images composition-wise. :)
