View Full Version : Where to put bones

Can anyone help me and suggest where I should put my bones in this character. I need to do an animation for my course. But have not really got a clue as to what I'm doing. I'll be using FK as IK just goes over my head. And as you can tell by this post boning is also out of my grasp at this point. I am planning to keep away from weight maps so it will be deforming with bones only.

Well a round character is not easy to rig. Staying away from painting weights or weight maps, is not good idea. The only thinck I could really tell you is, try putting bones anyware you thinck the geometry should deform, or you need the character to bend. Use you body for example and try to reproduce it for your character.
Try some test, see what happens. If you get stuck post again, with your problem. Good luck to you.
