With over 10 million tons of garbage in our ocean, there is no current feasible way of getting rid of it all. The Bossanova travels hundreds of feet beneath the surface and creates whirlpools to collect all the trash. Once inside, it is compacted and stored at the center. All the excess water is filtered back out. When surfacing, the two funnels rotate to face down. Also, if necessary, the Bossanova can scoop up any trash settled on the ocean floor.
