I'm rendering a simple flythrough of a landscape with 10000 evermotion tree proxies in max 2011 with mental ray. Each frame renders but 3dsmax eats about 25000kb memory without giving it back until eventually:"mental ray error. out of memory, try modifying the scene etc."
I'm using BSP2. I've tried ticking the placeholder box, conserve memory box, increased the IBitmapPager.memoryLimit_percent to 0.9 and tried the geometry cache but still every frame eats 25000kb and never gives it back.
Can anybody suggest how to get MR to flush completely after each frame?
Or is it Max thats eating the memory?
