View Full Version : this poseDeformer sounds good and all, but...

How do you use it? I know what it is for (basically a blendshape replacement)

I'm new to rigging in Maya so I have no idea. I managed to install and all is fine.

There are no user guides. The poseDeformer.html file it says look at the UI and follow.

But I'm a retard and still don't get it.

I'm up to the part where I'm staring at the UI. I know its one of those things where its easy to do once you know... but....

and also... what is poseReader? How do that come into play?

I already have a pre-build rig, (contains a skincluster etc.) and fully animated jumping around in the scene. There are really crappy deformations but the pose just has to be there!

Am I still able to use this plugin on a pre-built character? Or is meant to be setup during the original rigging stages?

The thing is I really only need to fix an animation with 50 sequential crappily deformed frames out of 1100.

Please explain the process as if your speaking to a 4 year old. Rigging isn't my forte but I'm being forced to learn for this project I'm on.

A very generous and considerate person wrote a guide, djx (http://forums.cgsociety.org/member.php?u=42242).

EDIT: Found this at the bottom of djx's page.

Wow thankyou. That's dumb enough for me! :) I'll be sure to thank him when we cross paths here!

Thankyou again, Dear Sir.

P.S. I also like that Moom rig guy on your website/reel. It has that hilarious Ace Ventura feel to it.

Thanks! It was Ace inspired! That Jim Carrey guy is hilarious.
