coming from a LW background, i could always use the checkbox "start by collision" when doing hardbody dynamics. so the object would just hang out until a collision object touched it, and which point it would start running its dynamics.

im completely new to maya dynamics and am wondering if some feature like this exits, to control when certain objects enter into the dynamics calculations, being triggered by interactions with other objects.


PS, on and another dynamics question... if i have an object that is say, 2 polygons, but the polys are not actualy joined, is there a function in the rigidbody solver to treat them as seperate objects? cause as it stands now, even though theyr not connected, it would still treat them as 1 object.
