Whats up all, this is a bust i've been doing off and on and would like some critiques to finish this off, I'm mostly looking for ways to improve his facial expression but anything that catches your eye as "not right" would also be helpful my end goal with this is to texture it and comp it into a portrait thx in advance! (

Can't find anything to crit here until it's textured and lit properly. Modelling wise it looks solid enough for a "creature" (hard to crit those as almost anything goes)

As Arild mentioned, nothing to crit as the model looks sound. However, i feel that some tattering of the tunic and the addition of seam/stitchwork might go a long way.

PS- is this a Mudbox screengrab or a render?

Looks good.
You have a concave thing going on with your sculpting. More shapes seem to be going in than out.
The brow wrinkles could have more definition in the middle.
The chin is too wide and I dont get a sense of structure.
The nose end has not much structure.
The eyepatch should be a little convex.
The strap of the eyepatch should cut into the skin a bit, looks like it is floating.

Kanga has some good points... in addition

- the sternomastoid looks a little odd from the angles here, looks like they end under the jaw
- the earrings are just stuck there, add some holes or appearance of holes

Everything else looks pretty good from what's shown here.

Thx kanga, musashidan and lildragon for the crits they've been really helpful. heres an update i've modified the chin and nose plus tightened up the patch i think i'm still gonna make it hug a little closer at the sides of his head and i will add some holes to his ears i've also added in some scars under the patch as for tattering up the tunic im probaly gonna wait till i'm about to texture it. I've started the texture for the head and i'll post it as soon as i get alittle further.

Ok so heres some texture work i've done i have just started to texture the hair and currently have no spec map for the skin, im using mental ray sss fast skin shader and a few target spots for lighting i'm planning on using hair and fur in max to mainly cover the hair and brows. (
