I'm trying to figure out how to use assets.

I did the tutorial with 2011 maya help so I know how to use assets for a fire truck but I'm not sure how to use them for a character rig with control handles.

I'm starting with a super simple character rig to learn it.

My rig is:

a poly sphere
a nurbs cirlce with a joint parented under ( so when I move the circle the joint moves)

I'd like to use assets to have only the nurbs circle show up in the outliner under an asset node and only the translate and rotate atts at in the channel box.

Could someone please tell me how assets can do this?
