( car was inspired by a couple of Syd Mead's futuristic car designs. The name "Emperador" means Emperor, or King in Spanish. I really enjoyed working on this project.

It definitely has that old-school "future" look. It would look a bit more "realistic" if the turn indicators and other colored lights were smaller: right now, the ones on the rear side are so large that they distort the sense of scale for the whole vehicle, while the rear ones look more like exhaust vents than brake lights.

Do you have it rigged so we can see how the doors would open? That looks like a fascinating design element.

Thanks for the suggestions. At this point I don't know if I will have time to add more details to the interior of the car, because I have other entries to work on. If time permits I will open the door.

Honestly, it looks almost exactly like one of the images done by Syd Mead under the "Inspiration & Guide" section of the contest page. I still really like it, but I wonder if it might be a bit too similar.

Thanks, glad you like it, and you are right it's very similar to an actual Syd Mead design. It was really my first effort, done to "get into the mood". That's why I have other coals in the fire, wish me luck! I plan to work on at least one more entry. This challenge is a lot of fun!

Then again, since my last post I have noticed many other more recent entries that are very similar to other Syd Mead designs. I am very excited about my next one, it's a very unusual machine. Saludos!

Regarding VelocityKendall's comment,

The incredibly talented designer Luigi Colani is a big admirer of Syd Mead's work, according to a documentary I saw online once. His work is also amazing, but much more "organic". My model was inspired by Mr. Mead's work, not Colani's. As a matter of fact I had never seen the vehicle in the link before today. Just wanted to make this clear. Thanks.
