nice over all impact.......but u need to work more on forgs anatomy......u see the main frog's ass area is not right,.,...

water droplets lack the inner illuminace.........a drop in the air is never that dark;)

09-09-2003, 02:44 AM
nice illustration work!
dont know maybe your character mean to be that way but: "doesnt the toe have to be at the other side of the foot":p
any way i like it a lot:thumbsup:

Great GREAT stuff. Any hopes to possibly bless us with a tutorial or something?

Haha! I like this image, it has a fun atmosphere to it. I love that water drop crashing onto the branch in backdrop, its very cool. Its one of those images that makes you smile for some reason. But hey! the background frog doesnt have any front legs!! he needs those to aim his jump!

It might be the compression, but I feel some parts of the image seem a little drafty? perhaps its the absense of a solid lightsource, but also around some of the edges it seems a little sketchy. Its still nice though.

I agree with the leg and ass comments, especially looking at the front frogs front leg and shoulder, they seem oddly proportioned and small; there doesnt appear to be a shoulder at all. I also think that the frogs are competing with the pixey fairy characters for screen space. The emphasis of the image seems more on the frogs than the humaniods, but the frog seems less detailed and classed as more of a steed than a central character. (even though the image is entitled "Frog" :P)

I love the goggles on the characters! it looks like the one in front is sitting on a bag pipe! but yeah it sure is a cool image :D good work!

haha, yeah, I noticed that no legs thing too.

Also, shouldn't that water droplet falling on the branch down below be a lot smaller? It took me a second to realize that there were other people in the picture because they appeared much smaller.

Apart from that I love it. It's beautiful and whimsical. Great job!

09-09-2003, 02:40 PM

dude thas awsome

09-09-2003, 04:19 PM
Wow....it rocks!

Love the bright colours and amazing use of light! :buttrock:

Like the others said, some errors in anatomy, but honestly I wouldn't have noticed it until someone pointed them out. I was too busy being blinded by the amazing show of skill and artistic ability!

Keep posting!!!

I think some people, especially us CG/3D artists get too hung up on the whole realism shwag sometimes. Maybe the frog in the background doesn't have front legs for a reason. His back legs certainly aren't the same as the frog in the foreground. It appears bi7777 is playing with the anatomy to some extent. Yes the water droplets are dark but so what? You know they are water droplets. They look great and they add to the color scheme.

Incredible piece! Its crying to be animated. However, I can picture the motion even without additional frames. Its like an entire animated scene compressed into one shot.

 Love it.

09-09-2003, 04:25 PM
another thing, the frog in the background appears to me to be flying more than jumping! I think thats very cool.

09-09-2003, 05:12 PM

so great~!!!!!!

I agree completely. You people get way too critical sometimes about things like this. Its a cartoony image for gods sake. The artist can do whatever he wants. I mean are you gonna start telling him all the anatomy of the fairies aren't right? Have you seen a fairy in person before? Just my $0.02.

BTW, awesome image, I love it. :buttrock:

I'd have to agree about being overly picky about anatomy, but there are some things that just look wrong. Like a frog with no front legs

I still love the peice, but the lack of front legs looks a bit weird.

09-10-2003, 12:31 AM
very original concept and style.
I like it

09-10-2003, 09:08 AM
hey i was just mucking around about the front legs thing.
and i was just adding constructive critsism on this forum. i dont like just replying and saying "you roxorz my boxorz". This forum is for crits and comments, but mainly crits so we can learn stuff.

edit: oh and for displaying kick arse artworks like this one!

Very good Job man
I:love: it

09-10-2003, 12:35 PM
I don't know what ppl want from u - i like the frog and everything, but there's something no one said and i'm suprised - u have a tileing mark in the background - as if u used the stump (photoshop)... do u see the upper right corner? there! it's repeating itself over and over - a matrix of approx. 10x4 of the same shape... Maye it's my screen that makes it more noticeable, but it's not natural...

But great job though!

09-10-2003, 12:44 PM
just wonderful. props to you, man.

09-10-2003, 03:39 PM
congratulations on a fine piece of work, this is awe inspiring stuff.. lovely use of green

09-10-2003, 05:21 PM
Looks great, Fantastic color and details and nice style too.
I could be wrong, but it appears that the toe on the main character's left foot looks like a "big" toe, but its located where the pinky toe should be.

Great work.

09-11-2003, 05:08 AM

Really love the composition and colors in this one, some of the water droplets don't work for me, but the style makes me forget about that aspect of it :). Very cute characters, kinda reminds me of "My Little World"
