They had it for mac in version 2.0, now they took it off? whats the deal man??

it's annoying but if you have PS CS4, just paint your model in 3D. Load an OBJ and make your diffuse, bump, gloss, spec maps and paint on the model:

The only problem with that is it's not as fast as Mudbox so use the lowest subdiv possible. It also doesn't support tangent space normal maps - only object space.
