View Full Version : movable pivot advice?

So a distant friend asked me to build a rig for him and he wanted a
"FK spine with ability to move the pivot from bottom to top of spine"
I might have seen one of those but I'm not sure what the extent of it's abilities would be? Can anyone give me a hint as to how this is done? I'm assuming it's more than just a parent joint that we offset or translating a pivot point . ??

There can be few ways, but simplest that comes to my mind is to use the same concept as reverse foot setup to make multiple pivots. Just a thought.
The zooToolbox has a reverse spine primitive (zooCSTBuildPrimReverseSpine.mel)
It uses 2 spine control chains - a forward and a reverse. And provides a way to align and switch between them using rmb-menus. Could be useful for a quadruped spine for example.
