Great model, I must say, those tires/texture are the most realistic I think I have seen on here, atleast from the distance of the shot they appear to be. Rock on.

09-04-2003, 10:45 PM
thats one hella cool render and model, great job man!

Can we see the Rhino Nurbs, Thats what really gets me

Great render

09-05-2003, 05:00 PM
Looks very good. A couple of things though - add a little dirt to the body. It is too clean at the moment, loses some realism as a result. And what about a license plate as well; this vehicle is being driven illegally :p

09-05-2003, 07:58 PM
amazing job, you really got the lighting spot-on with this one. I have nothing to crit really.

09-05-2003, 08:05 PM
WOOOW!5 stars:drool:

09-05-2003, 08:12 PM
Wow, this is a nice good looking finished scene! well done! you got 5 stars from me! keep up the good work

09-05-2003, 11:38 PM
wow awsome!!1 crit tho, For the enviorment picture, the sun is behind the car, but the rims are still very shiny....I think you should put an omno light far behind it....

Your reflection from the windsheild isn't right.

I am not usually much interested in car models but this is really cool man! ;) :applause:

09-06-2003, 11:59 AM
Amazing work as usual Ribin, love the fact that you took into account the building reflection, one thing tho, rotate the tires so they're not at the same rotation ;).

09-06-2003, 12:04 PM
We need wireframe ribin :)
Very nice work...

09-06-2003, 12:22 PM
These are lines of construction (1700 lines) and surfaces
All work is made for 2 weeks:wavey:

09-06-2003, 12:37 PM
it looks really great, BUT . . .

i can't help but feel that the car in THIS picture feels a little on the small side, especially since this care is a LOT bigger then normal cars.

compare the care to the door in the background, the door, which is farther away is bigger then the car, while normally a car like this is slightly short then a normal door . . .

great render nonetheless tho

09-06-2003, 12:51 PM

really greast model and material!!

but the tires are to brown .. its sand on them i supose, but t makes it look less reall now, make them more black, than it looks more reall i think.

and there is something with the shadow..

near the tires more dark on the ground or something

09-06-2003, 01:51 PM
I really like it

I saw your previous jobs at some time ago. :p

wow, great model,! nice shaders! welldone!:applause:

09-06-2003, 02:27 PM
Great model!!!

I think it is too clean too, but what is most strange to me is the position of the camera. Think about this: The man shoting like this must be a big basket player. So I think it would be more convincing if you put your camera about 1.6 and 1.85m from floor.

Kel Solaar
09-06-2003, 02:55 PM
very great render but i agree with equinoxx I have the strange feeling that the car is small compared to the building and environment, maybe an optical illusion, i don't know. Otherwise this is an impressive modelling and rendering job

09-06-2003, 04:34 PM
you guyz dont get it....he uses an enviorment pic for the background, so if he would even change the camera angle or size, it would look like its standing on 2 wheels, since the enviorment picture doesnt move alon with the camera because its 2d.....

09-06-2003, 04:35 PM
awesome.. did you model any part of this car in max or max was only for rendering ?

09-06-2003, 04:36 PM
very nice :)

09-06-2003, 04:53 PM
Quite realistic. The only thing that looks funny is the fact that it is parked on the sidewalk :) But that's all that came to me when I took my first look "Why is this SUV parked on the sidewalk?"

Further inspection reveals that the AA could be increased. Other than that it is a wonderful composit!

09-06-2003, 04:55 PM
Stunning :applause:

Of course I got it, man! But anyway you always have to select the right background for your models... and in this picture there is a scale-match problem between background and subject. What would happen If you put a truck instead of this car?

09-06-2003, 07:05 PM
outstanding details:thumbsup:

09-06-2003, 07:11 PM
Nice car man :) good lighting and rendering too :)

my olny critt is this, you have seem to modeled everyhting right, buit those tires give it away dude, theres no tire valves, how are you suppoes to put air in those tires? :)

overall great mdoel :)

I agree! The model is wonderful, but this thing is HUGE!!!
5 m long
2 m wide
1,80 m height.

it's a gargantuan 4x4 car, and it seems like a Micra :p

looks very cg

09-06-2003, 07:18 PM
ribin, looks great, you should really write a tutorial, I'd even pay $70+ for one made by you

Hey ribin,
I think u should stop making cars for a couple of years..that would allow untalented souls like me to reach some benchmark where u have reached....

Have been following your work since a long time...

Awesome stuff..
u keep getting better and better...

Keep it up..

09-06-2003, 07:58 PM
i think thats an extraordinary effort, its simply amazing!:applause:

09-06-2003, 10:05 PM
Amazing work. Just a few comments though ..The scale seems a bit off. The car looks a bit small. ( make sure your FG focal length is the same as the bg) also a couple imperfections like nicks and dirt would help sell the realism.

09-06-2003, 10:22 PM
where did you get blueprints for a car like that??

never seen them at a site like onno or suurland or even smcars

09-06-2003, 10:32 PM
Great work man... I see what willjones said about the front tire... dont know what it is... but thats something weird there... well i was wondering... is de enviroment a photograph or CG too?

09-07-2003, 01:41 AM
I think you've done a good job on the model of the car. The car paint texture is also very nice, and the reflections match well. The background/size issue is a bit of a problem. I would think the roof of the car would be about as tall as the shrub in the background to the left. I also think that the green board shouldn't be there. If its a CG element, I would get rid of it as I think it takes away from the car. You have very nice lines, lighting, and texturing then all of a sudden; BAM! a green sign.

09-07-2003, 02:46 AM
wow, it looks as photo, super

good place to park a car, driver has already paid fine? :applause:

09-07-2003, 04:16 AM
I just realised that the planter looks More CG then the truck lol.

09-07-2003, 04:34 AM
Superb render and modelling.:applause:

09-07-2003, 04:56 AM
Thats looks real. Awesome work there.

09-07-2003, 05:25 AM
Yes, there is something screwy around the front tire shadow area.

I blew up and lightened (hope you don't mind) the area, it looks like you just accidentaly made a mistake when cutting the shadow in the composition or something.

09-07-2003, 05:31 AM
Very Realistic Render and Modeling!

09-07-2003, 06:00 AM
oh is this a comp???

like he did the car and comped it in pshop?

09-07-2003, 06:31 AM
i hate seeing posts that say add dirt and all that. it's not on a dirt path and it could very well be a new car. i think if you were to detail anything it would be the board behind the car..

09-07-2003, 07:57 AM
good point, but 95% of the vehicles modeled have absolutly no dirt on them at all. now go look outside at vehicles... you'll see dirt :-)

tires are almost never "new" looking, and wheels are often very very dirty and dusty from break dust, bottom part of the rear quarter panels usualy have road tar and scratches from the rear wheels, exhaust pipes are usualy black from the engine exhaust, usualy bugs on the front/window/side mirrors, and the list goes on :)

09-07-2003, 09:29 AM
this looks like more of a scene when a brand is promoting their new cars. which usually has no dirt on em :x

09-07-2003, 10:00 AM
well i'm not too sure where you grabbed that percent from anyway

^Exactly. And this looks like a car ad out of a magazine. I could understand how some pictures may look too clean, but the tires look fine ontop of the environment. But what the hey, lets just throw some scratches on and make it look like it went through a swamp so it looks 'real'.

Edit: Just take a look at this

 G8 looks good, like it loads

09-07-2003, 11:04 AM
Edit: Just take a look at this [/B]

is that Proton Satria?? coz the logo.... the shape even the size look identical to the Malaysia's version..of Proton Satria :S

About the Nissan... wow.. that is real good.. can model the Nissan X-Trail???

09-07-2003, 11:24 AM
Great work! Full real image!
I do not see a think that says that this image is CG! Well done!

09-07-2003, 01:01 PM
Great work!

09-07-2003, 03:24 PM
isn't that the chile-house in hamburg in the background?

yeah - a big hurray for local patriotes! hehehe

09-07-2003, 04:48 PM
Super work

09-07-2003, 06:28 PM
One word: stunning!

09-07-2003, 08:13 PM
I don't know What to say!! aaaaaaaaaaaaamazing :)

09-07-2003, 09:33 PM

Sorry for this critique. But this render looks better then any of your previous works. Because you added the one thing, missing of which did your previous cars not realistic - the perfect reflection of the environment.

That's why this is a masterpiece - it's very hard to say is it a photo or it is CG, because of the realism.

09-08-2003, 04:40 AM
really nice car and a clean model it seems, congratulations. :)

09-08-2003, 07:40 AM
This is totally jaw-dropping. However, the look of the car, I want to say the shadow and the tires, especially something in the wheels, makes the car have a CGI feel. However, this is still astounding work.

09-08-2003, 07:41 AM
in zane

:buttrock: :surprised

09-08-2003, 01:33 PM
very realistic

09-08-2003, 02:27 PM
I dunno... that bush in the background looks kind of fake to me ;)

The truck looks great!

09-08-2003, 05:03 PM
Hi there! Firstly I must say that your models really rocks! And here comes one suggestion: I think your colors are bit off... so here comes my edited version (hope I won't make you angry with this... but I also hope it will help you a bit)

So once again: your models really rocks!!! :buttrock:

09-08-2003, 08:12 PM
really nice!! awesome render!
where did you get the blueprints for that??

09-08-2003, 09:54 PM
Im in love...

09-08-2003, 10:26 PM
all i have to say about this render is... SICK!!!

09-09-2003, 11:28 AM
Nice work yes !
But I wouldn't be as positive as others may be here.
(ok you post here to get crits ?)
Mine :

I agree that the car appears to be too little compared to the rest of the picture.
The shadow under the car is not really realistic for me.
The background image is too bright,or the foreground too dark.
With a light that strong in the street at the back, the corner of the building on the left should not be that dark?
It would diffuse a bit more in the foreground too...
An I wrong?

Anyway a picture thislike should be really hard to obtain so  .
I wouldn't be able to do the half of this.
...but you can get better.

Great work but the floor texture needs a little work - especially where it meets with the background floor texture !

Otherwise - good stuff !!!

08-23-2004, 08:13 AM
Very realistic. I like your attention to even the smallest details on the vehicle itself (eg the positioning of the fuel cap). Great work! Keep it up!
