View Full Version : Export Displacement map -> sculpted details only?
Does anyone know how to export a displacement map with only the sculpted details and not the entire object ? For example: forehead wrinkles (white levels) only, rest of object (equal gray).
This is to combine several maps on one object - 1 map is no problem, adding others on top of that is.

The only way I can think of doing this is as follows:
Create a morph target for your mesh. Sculpt what ever you want, the before you create your displacement map, use the morph brush to paint back to the initial mesh the areas you don't want to be in the map. That should so the trick. Let me knows if it works for you.

Finally I choose to export the displacement map, and import the TIFF back it as a texture map? I then just painted everything that shouldn't displace by hand and re-exported it. Still a bit of a work around, but it worked :)
