Count me in.

Testing out different ways of doing things. I'm thinking afterburn is definitely going to cover a lot of ground fast. Just gotta relearn it heh :scream:

I should be able to take this on more next week. Definitely sticking with Max though. I'm going to try and make this a not-so-typical mushroom, military explosion.

That's nice. i like it. I'm screwed.
Haha good luck man lookin sweet already.

So I took my girlfriends 300 dollar cannon camera, went outside and recorded a general cam move to track. I was hoping this would introduce a more human, handheld feel to it, which I think it did. Here's the basis of my shot.

Got a lot of environment work to do, dust, sand. Lots of projection fun.

Really liked the "animatic".
Good luck

Started some environment work. Still pretty rough, but most of it will be covered by dust anyway and lit darker.

man this is killer.. wow... indiana jones... awesome :)

03 March 2010, 08:02 PM
Ha! thanks. Yeah I'm trying to get as much done as possible. Looks like OT is starting at work. Hopefully I'll finish in time.

03 March 2010, 08:46 PM
Looking nice, man i wish i knew how to camera project/map even in the least bit, would make using fumefx for me much funner then always just sticking it on top of a static plate. I can just never match the geometry up well.

Good luck finishing man, I hope you get it done.

03 March 2010, 11:26 PM
Hey man thanks,

I think you mean Camera track? It's pretty easy man. Syntheyes or Boujou will do the trick.

The textures were just applied with a camera map modifier in max...and poorly I might ad :D Lot's of zdepth to save the day!

I'll probably spend the rest of the week on the environment then get going on the the nuke itself. The nuke should be the easiest part of the shot that's why I've been holding off on it.

03 March 2010, 05:10 PM
More or less done with enviro lighting. I added some flicker in there for some hot spots where there will be some brush fires.

---Finally. Onto the fun stuff. Brush fires, atmosphere, and of course Nuke.

Looking good Andy! Look forward to seeing some Fume/Afterburn action :)

03 March 2010, 06:01 PM
Man! I just hope I can finish! I didn't get to it at all this weekend. Too many other side jobs that pay : )

One week, I think I can do it!

03 March 2010, 02:39 AM
Nice handheld, good motion :)

03 March 2010, 04:24 AM
good entry.

You got one more week to tweak it if you wish, great work so far,

03 March 2010, 12:39 AM
I think I have to bail out....arrghhhh stupid work. We'll see if I can get anything else done.

03 March 2010, 04:03 AM
Well I understand.
But in my case was because of my final animation project.
It's a pity really would like to see the end of it.

03 March 2010, 04:42 PM
Bummer man, I was looking forward to seeing it, I was really liking your previs!

03 March 2010, 09:14 AM
Man, I really hope you have time to finish this, even if its not in time for the deadline. The environment stuff was looking great, and you were just about to start blowing stuff up!!

03 March 2010, 09:55 PM
Yeah....I don't think I'm going to finish in time. Got some really cool things going on with fume lately that I can't show just yet, but check my site soon. There will be a lot of updates real soon.

by the way:

Thanks for the kind words!
