View Full Version : WIP - Tombscape 2 - flash game stuff
01-29-2010, 09:54 AM
My next flash game project is going to be 'Tombscape 2' and I will be posting my progress and behind the scenes images in this thread in an effort to be more open about the process. I will also be posting some small flash demos of fx, puzzles for testing/feedback so feel free to comment on em.
I will also be switching from Swishmax 3 (AS2) to Flash CS4 and AS3 on this project (not liking AS3 as of yet)
I am basing this Point & Click game in a cave/temple of Mayan origin! I have a bunch of reference pics and material to read through so I will be formulating a storyline as I go (as usual) but there will be no 2012 end of the world crap (well maybe a hint at it) I hope to base the game in a detailed 'main' room with a couple of siderooms to unlock before escaping so I want to keep it simple. I also want to add plenty of puzzles so I'll be posting some images/tests of those as I go along and looking for a little feedback.
Anyway to kick things off heres a couple of simple renders, Models done in C4D, detailed in Zbrush and then re-rendered in C4D...very basic stuff so far, more complex stuff on the way ;-)

A tablet to interpret the mayan numbers:-
One of the creepy crawlies that inhabit Tombscape 2!!!

Mostly coding today, still trying to decide whether to stick with AS2 for this project, that way I'm not learning the Flash/UI 'and' and new language at the same time...Will have to do some more experiments...
Anyway I squeezed in another bug model, using Zbrush!

Nice models! The normal maps from zbrush really make those models come alive.

I've tried the game and yeah, it's pretty cool...though it could be a little bit longer. It even caught my girlfriend's attention which is quite unusual :)

Thanks for checking it out, yeah the length of these games can be an issue as I have to keep the filesizes down so sites will host it ;-)
Hey brother. I like em models you got going there.
Especially that skull and the tablet. I agree with previous posts, the normal maps are top notch.
The models all have a taste of the same theme, which makes it even better.
Took a look at your site, neat stuff indeed. Much useful stuff indeed.
Keep updating us my friend
