You know the drill. Time limit 2h.

- The speed modelling challenges are open to everybody. If you're registered on the forums you can participate.
- Every week you get a list of items. Pick at least one and try to model it as fast as possible. If you want, you can do all of them.
- Do not exceed the time limit of the challenge. If you're out of time and still haven't finished, post the unfinished model. Speed is key!
- Focus on modelling. Shading, lightning and "proper" rendering are optional (and thus not limited by time).
- Take as much time for reference hunting as you need.
- When posting your model make sure you post a wireframe of your model. (try to do more then one view of the model).
- You can do any challenge you want. The challenges are not closed when the week passes. If you fancy an older challenge, do that.
- The most important rule - enjoy it.

This weeks items:
- tennis racket,
- a harp,
- a hedgehog,
- a leaf-blower,
- an obstacle course.

Have fun!

Okey, this is my second attempt on this. A tennis racket! All made in Blender.

I tried my hand at the obstacle course in the form of the X-Men's Danger Room. It's not much and rather plain, but I only had about an hour to do it. And man, I really need to learn how to light interiors.

First attempt, 106 minutes, not that great a model though, would've been faster if I wasn't talking to people over MSN :S

Hey guys,

Here is my attempt for the tennis racket, took me about an hour.

Nice models guys :) forgot to mention, mine took around 90 minutes to make.

Here is a quick attempt at sculpting a harp in Maya:

It took about 90 minutes with photo research.

My first post and my harp. 1h 45 and 10 min for texturing

Nice models, keep up the good work, but please post a wireframe of your model (even if it's an SS).

Hey Guys,
I wanted to make a Tennis Racket.
Here you go.
I also added a ball, but did not count it towards total time, it took about 20min, i know it is simple, but i wanted to use nurbs and it was giving me problems while i was trying to calculate the extrude and booleans, not sure why, so i got it done eventually :)
I hope you like it,

01 January 2010, 07:40 PM
Oh, sorry, missed that little thing. I'll make sure to post the wireframe in the future :)

01 January 2010, 05:36 AM
Total Time 1 hr 15 min

01 January 2010, 07:55 AM
Total Time : 1 hr 45 minutes

stoopid strings, spent longer placing those bloody things then any other part

Seems that the tennis rackets are the way to go with this challenge :P Here's my go. About 50 minutes or so. It's kinda plain, but I was getting bored/tired. So I stopped here.

it was always my childhood dream to run this course
I managed to get everything but the station weapons in, thinking bout doing the eliminator next

total time 2 hrs

Modelling done in just under an hour, planning + render setup were not included in the time.

6,705 poly count (including the balls and the background plane)

I quite like this racket and the wireframe, though I struggled a bit on the handle bar.

Wow, been away for a few days and when I get back a million new models :) Good work everybody, every racket looks superb!
