(set loosely in the American 1950's) A young boy making the next biggest alien picture with the supplies he has laying around his room.

Hey, that's a cool idea. I like your concept sketch very much. The alien behind the window is a nice touch.

Good luck with the challenge. :arteest:

Ditto Russell's comments! Nice start!

This is an excellent idea! I'll be watching this one develop.

Perhaps it could do with a bit more "action" in the perspective, maybe from the kid's camera's point of view (over his shoulder?) and the alien in a reflection so that the dog actually appears fairly large?

Thank you Russel-Nash and Korendo, I'm glad you like it.

Slipstream: You make an excellent point. I'm going to tweak the perspective some more ,give it a shot. Much more to come.

Really nice concept. Definately a different angle on things!

Working on a slightly more dramatic camera angle and a different arrangement. Not entirely sure which I like more yet.

I really love this, I liked the concept even before I noticed the alien at the window, then it really brought it all together. Great work! I think the second angle you posted works so much better, the focus and center of attention feels more balanced...all in all, I love it! Good luck with the challenge, cant wait to see your wip!

Its a really nice idea you came up there and the sketch work, just wonderful. I'd personally go for the second sketch the composition and the way things are layed out works great. Just my 2 cents, best of luck with your project.

This is a really cool concept, I can't wait to see more!

What a great idea! I am looking forward to developments. :)

I love this idea!

The alien in the window feels like an afterthought. It's fun, but do you really need it? I agree that something should be done with the window, something different, like a vintage telescope aimed at a starry sky.

I agree about the perspective needing work. I think the boy is too big for the space. Are you going to push the lighting a bit more?

Woah, thanks guys. I've been away a few days and I'm surprised by the response.

Eurayo, I'm planning to push the lighting a lot to bring out the boy and dog a lot more. I like the alien in there as it's a light little piece of humor that gives it something extra to keep you coming back. I think a telescope is a great idea, but not at the expense of the alien. There must be a place for both somehow. Thanks a lot for the suggestions!

Sketch 2 seems much better.. It captures the scene of what the person is doing and it is funny in a way, gl and hope to see more from you take care for now.

very funny, sketch 2 is better, only need to kill those horizontal lines if you wish to have some depth/ dont need to be square...add some furniture or put some shadow to break those lines.

After some thinking...and taking another look, you should start coloring this, you have all the elements, only ensure to have its foot in frame. ..
best wishes and let the time be on your side...

uh a room picture. I'm curious how You will bring it to life. I'm not sure but I think that the boy is too big for this room. You may want to shrink him a little bit. Anyway looking forward for colors.

Started work on the base models of the background objects. I plan to tweak the camera angle more when I fill the room up with enough junk. lots of z-brush work to do on this.

Thanks tccin3d, I think you're right about the foot.

I got the flu twice last month so this would have been done much sooner. Only the alien, and dog accessories to go until all the base meshes are done. Then I can finally start to get some details, textures and lighting. Can't wait.
