As soon as I saw that the new challenge was up, I knew that I wanted to enter, regardless of the topic, so that I could challenge myself. But when I saw the topic, I didn't have the slightest idea of what I was going to do. I'd never been a big fan of the monsters, zombies, and aliens of b-movies, and I struggled to think of a concept that I was familiar with and would fit with this theme.

And then it hit me! Cheesy 60's & 70's kung-fu flicks!!

This would fit PERFECTLY! These movies were produced ad nauseam in Hong Kong in the 70's, and were sometimes over the top, ridiculous, and hilarious, especially with the dubbed english :D They had odd music, crazy sound effects, awesome costumes, and of course, kick-ass kung fu! And if you watch any now, it all screams budget lol.

But it didn't stop there, as the inspiration kept pouring in...what else could be over the top in terms of action?? How about a SHOTGUN wielding Samurai? Oh yeah. It's on.

Old samurai movies, such as Akira Kurosawa's, were the inspiration for budget produced spaghetti westerns that gave birth to the heroic Man With No Name character, played by Clint Eastwood. So I wanted to combine those two, since I love samurai movies, and good westerns!

So now I have my official entry idea:

Shotgun Samurai vs. The 5 Mutated Venoms!!!

So far, the very basic plot has been fleshed out...this will be coming after the weekend :)

This is going to be the backbone of what will eventually be the trailer, some revisions will be coming down the line for sure...

Shotgun Samurai vs. The 5 Mutated Venoms

It’s samurai versus kung-fu! Swinging swords against deadly hands! And...shotguns versus tentacles?!

In this all-new action packed thriller guaranteed to entertain, The Chaw Brothers and Leo Sergionne have teamed up for the very first time to brings us their brand new masterpiece of mayhem, their magnum opus of madness! Leo Sergionne’s Shotgun Samurai is back! And he must face-off against the Chaw Brothers’ 5 Mutated Venoms – or DIE!

Alien Gangsters stole his car – he killed them!
Nazi Zombies tortured his brother – he killed them!
Unfunny Vampires made fun of his mother – he killed them!

But now these monsters have crossed the line! The 5 Mutated Venoms make their cinematic debut, and have done it by any means necessary! They’ve kidnapped his son! They’ve gotta die!! Who are these mutants? What do they really want? Why have they kidnapped his son?! To answer all of these questions, Akyura, the Shotgun Samurai, must track them down! And kill them!

The 5 Mutated Venoms have kidnapped his son – and he’s gonna kill them!

Also, Canada is SO GOLDEN baby!! Can the Olympics do anything but inspire?! Congrats to Maelle Ricker, Alexandre Bilodeau, and all our other medallists so far!! Thanks for the inspiration!!!
