how can i style fur, so it looks like it has gel in it. characteristic is that the tips of clumps are sharp. i could not get that with clupming. it is possible with hair, but hair looks crappy when rendered.

drive the Fur with the hair then.

pretty simple.

1 - create ur hair/Nurbs curves.
2 - create ur fur ( on the same surface of the hair/curves.
3 - Select Both Fur and Hair/Curve.
4 - goto Rendering Tab > Fur > Attach Hair System to Fur (Select the Fur you want to aply to the selected Hair/Curve.

and there you go.. the Fur will follow the Hair shape.

Someone correct me if im wrong, but.. dont use Fur on actually long hairs.

Hi SirBurs,

thank you for your elaborate answer :)
i will try your solution. might be possible that fur is not intended for long hair, but if i render hair, the look is nothing compared to the quality of fur. maybe i am doing something wrong and you can point me in the right direction to render hair in decent quality.

Fur clumping has attributes to control the taper of the clump. If the clumping starts near the base, or closer to the tip.
