Really really cool work. I specially loved the mermaid, Mercs and PFLow. Can I ask if you do VFX and write shaders or just use other peoples. Does that fall under your job title (VFX/TD)
Just curious whether you're really good at using existing systems or if you actually have to do development (write stuff in C++) as a TD.

I'd think scripting would be part of your job. Any case thanks for sharing that was really amazing again.

very very good works man.

Very nice reel, Ansi!
Keep emitting particles ;)

Best regards,

I'm glad to see so much new stuff in your reel, loved the avalanche :)

12 December 2009, 10:11 PM
Great reel Ansi!!! I love that work you did on GI Joe

Great work

Thanks again you all :) Especially for the trip to frontpage :D

@Spin99: shader writing was not necessary in any of the shots since the given tools provided enough quality. No need to reinvent the wheel here :D Writing a shader can fall into the field of a TD but usually it is scripting and making sure a pipeline works smooth as well as figuring out how to certain effects. At smaller companies the TD is the Senior artist and the artist in the same person :)

wow, really cool reel.
The only thing I would change is put the G.I. Joe jet dissolve shot right at the beginning.
It's always good to start with a jawdropper...other than that great

@ PsychoSilence Thanks for telling. Being technically and scripting able
I sometimes wonder if I shouldn't focus on tech stuff and do an according reel.
Looking at a kind of infant market here in Africa any case.

Sure there's a lot of amazing shaders out there waiting to get tweaked for hours on end :)

Hy Spin99:
If you under stand the tech side of things you can always apply it to many other scenarios and packages.

@ Spin99: Regarding training a little birdy told me the first thing in the new decade is the second pflow training (double-)DVD as well as the discount on the full 3-DV-bundle ;)

i keep you posted!

@ Spin99: Regarding training a little birdy told me the first thing in the new decade is the second pflow training (double-)DVD as well as the discount on the full 3-DV-bundle ;)Thanks for sharing. So far I've only played with the simulations that come with old XSI 6 Academic that is the ODE and PhysX engines and the Syflex plugin. Great fun not sure if I can build much of a reel with it.

Actually been getting into the intricacies of MR 3.5 and setting up a nice shader library. Also getting MR to do things from the user interface since I'm not running the command line version.
