I think its amazing that you were able to work on such good stuff.. but... and im not doubting you... why cant you put like the work without it being rendered.. your just showing clips... but how can someone know if you really did make that? I worked on the mist as well I worked on the rig for the tenticle with Ahmed Shiahate and Alvaro Sanint and when I made my reel i placed the real footage when i bought the movie and the none rendered footage side by side so that i could show people what i did and how it came out in the movie... I think it would be good for you to do the same... Ahmed as well when he worked on the underworld rigs shows the movie clip and then the unrendered version of it... great work... dude on the side note I loved working on the mist when i went to the theaters to watch it some people hated it.. did you go watch it?

I think im going to have to disagree with what you said because i believe in this industry result is everything and he's show result and that's all there is to it. Details can be left to the demo reel breakdown.

I agree with you one hundred percent but this isn't a trailer reel of work its s show reel and show reels from what i was told should at least have the rendered image and the pre-rendered image next to it... they do the same thing in DVD's. This is because clients sometimes don't believe what they see and want to see the break down... Ive seen it happen before...

Pretty tough to to get builds from studios without stealing them. I always appreciate builds and respect people that really take the time to do them, but 9 times out 10 you're going to get an interview based on who you've worked with and where there at now. People that know what you've done and what you are capable of. Thanks for your input, I remember your rigs, there was also 2 riggers in house that killed themselves on it as well. Oh the mist...

Cheers

That's very good to know.. Im always trying to find the best thing to put... and yea that rig was hard lol... I dont know i guess it all depends.. Ive had so manny clients that once i would turn in the work or show it to them i would have to show them a wireframe because they didnt believe me... talk about annoying.. for the mis we asked them to send us a little quicktime...

looks a great reel dude ...

but I really agree with Solbester, hey, we are in a cg forum, and making clips from the movies doesn't help a lot to show the magic of your cg work ... but in a demo reel like yours I feel like am watching a promotion for a movie channel ...

I guess a small clip with some breakdowns/making-of/walk-through, should be better and will show some of your techniques that state your skills - for us at least -

agian, your reel is awesome & full of huge titles .... but I didn't find it interested for me on the cg part, I was looking for more :)

nice works! but whats up with the blasting Volume?! is it really necessary to be loud? You should normalize the DB+ before you render it out.

First, congrats Andy! Great reel man :-)
About the rigs on that show, if I remember well, the main rigger at cafeFX had to do a TON of cleanup on the rig we got. So much so that it's hard to tell if the rig put together outside of the company was actually used at the end at all.

Great reel.

But, I was waiting for shot breakdowns at the end of the video. I want to see what you can do, rather than just what you and many other people did. Seems I'm not the only one bothered by this.
