View Full Version : What are Impulse Position and Spin?

11-19-2009, 08:50 PM
I'm working with active rigid bodies and I'm trying to figure out what the Impulse X,Y, and Z and the Spin Impulse X,Y, and Z are and what they do and where you'd use them.

Any explanation would be great.

Straight from the Help manual...

"Creates an instantaneous force, with magnitude and direction, on the rigid body at the local space position specified in Impulse Position X, Y, Z. The higher the number, the greater the magnitude of force."

see for more info.

Yeah I read that and it didn't sound much different than impulse X,Y, and Z and it kinda sounded like Impulse Velocity too. Is it different?

Have you spent any time just with a simple object and a ground plane testing those values? You will get so much more out of it if you do.
