View Full Version : Painter 6 not running on PC

08 August 2003, 10:35 AM
Here's the error i get when trying to run either Painter Classic or Painter 6 (never installed both at once) on my PC:

"Initialization error:
Not enough free memory to run painter" -Which i think is a lie.

I run windows xp on a pentium 4, 1.8GHz, 1.00 Gb RAM
I have a 3Dlabs Oxygen GVX1 Pro video card running at 32bit 1280 by 960 resolution.
I have 13Gbs free out of 30Gbs on hard drive.
I also tried installing it on another drive with 2Gbs free out of 4Gbs but i get the same error when i try to run it.
I even turned off the system restore option and still nothing.
It's the first time I install and try painter on my system.
All other softwares run fine. :annoyed:

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thank you for your help

Search the forum here and look in Corel knowledgebase. Someone else ran into this or a similar problem a while back and there is a simple fix. I think it involves setting your Windows swap file to a smaller size. When you search this forum, look for posts by me.

Edit: Never mind.
