View Full Version : User Interface: How to get rid of a panel when 'delete' is greyed out

I run into this probelm frequently. Maybe someone knows a fix?

I am trying to modify a user interface. I want the uv window to extend all the way to the right side of the screen. There is unfortunately a panel on the right that I can't get rid of. When clicking in the upper left corner of this unwanted panel shows the typical panel management pop up, but "delete" has been grayed out.

How do I delete this panel?

I already know that I can just shrink it to its smallest size. Call me anal-retentive, but this is not good enough. I want that bad boy gone!

Open system>Preferences>Defaults and uncheck tidy layouts. If you now look closely you will see another frame outside your "bad boy", clicking the tiny triangle in the upper right corner in the outer frame and you will see this can be deleted and your problem is gone.

After weeks with rain, the sun is out, finally.
