View Full Version : falling paper once again

So i'm doing a falling paper ticket particle effect and I'm stuck. I've got instanced particles falling down with a random rotation, but as they hit the ground they stick like razor blades into the cement. Also, I've got gravity on to get them to fall, and once they hit the ground they bounce over and over and over again.

I'd like to be able to have them hit the ground in a flatter position so they don't stick into the ground. Also I'd like to either stop the bouncing, or spit out a duplicate instanced particle that isn't affected by forces in world, or switch off forces upon collision.

Any help would be much appreciated!!!

EDIT: i've created a random rotation value on creation and passed that along to use as a final rotation for tickets that hit the concrete - working good enough i think. Now I'm just trying to figure out how to turn off forces or spit out a duplicate instanced particle on collision.

EDIT: sweet, think I've got a working solution thanks to this thread :

so i'm making progress with the forums help, thanks everyone. Check this out though, My material is giving the correct alpha except for where my particles overlap. Testing material options now but though I'd ask to see if anyone could point me in the right direction.
