View Full Version : Modeling problem- 3ds max

I'm a student learning 3ds max and I ran into a problem where I had to create a room with walls that slopped into the floor. I was thinking I had to sweep a spline along a closed path but the end result would mess up geometry. I ended up converting the path to an editable poly where I would extrude the edges and then chamfer the sides, but it didn't create a wide enough slope. Can anybody tell me an easier way to do this?

Sweep is the way I'd go. Use the closed Spline as base and the open Spline as custom shape in the Sweep Modifier. If you move the open Spline to the right (in Sub-Object mode) until the leftmost Vertex is near the Pivot, you shouldn't get overlaping geometry (You can edit it also after you did the Sweep for instant feedback).
