View Full Version : Why do my poly's always go tri, quad, ngon when i only want quads?

Im having so much trouble modeling in detail, im using edge loops, adding divisions, and drawing new verticies in but making sure to keep it in quads, however my mesh always gets destorted and when i start to add divisions i get tris

Im trying to add more vertices to add details such as circular bumps around the handle of the gun and the bevel cut into the handle peice, but it just distorts my mesh until its un-editable.

Any tips? Thanks

I assume your using the insert edge loop tool. Turn off fix fix quads in the tool options.

(also it's not making a triangles and ngons it's making your triangles and ngons into quads; count the sides of those things you circled they're all quads ;))
