View Full Version : Animating walk/run cycle on a treadmill

Hey everyone

I'm trying to make an animation of a biped character walking/running on a treadmill in 3ds max 2009.
Theres the built-in footsteps mode which allows animation of a walk/run cycle very easily, yet I can't get my character to stay on the treadmill (to "walk in place" so to speak)

how can this be achieved?

Thanks very much in advanced,

Maybe I did not elaborate as much as I should have;

I have an animated biped doing a short walk. I need it to look as if hes on a rail moving in the opposite direction of his movement's, as in, I need it to look as if hes walking forward, but hes walking on something that moves the other way, so all in all he stays in place.

Could you please tell me how this can be achieved?

in the biped roll out look for "modes and display" an click the icon that looks like a target
its the "move in place" button so now he can do everything in one spot
