3.5 has not successfully installed on my WinXpSP3 machine (Mac Pro) as of yet. I have already installed the file enclosed in the folder to install this side by side with ZB3.1.

The installation of this file is not the best in my opinion. It is a folder of files with the application exe that is supposed to install 3.5 - all of this instead of a standard installer file. I hope there is a release of a proper installation file soon.

There is a new distribution of 3.5 available, this one now starts up and installs on my configuration.

ZBrush 3.5R2 contains the following new additions, updates and fixes...

New "Auto Groups With UV" option added which allows for auto-grouping by mesh (shells) and UV (islands) combined continuity.

Added option to allow object to rotate around its local center. To activate, press the "Align To Object" option in the Draw palette. Note: This button is stored when you save the custom config file.

Added a 2nd Flatten brush (similar to the Flatten brush found in version ZBrush 3.1).

A Preferences/LightBox option added to turn on or off LightBox at startup.

Increased smoothing strength of the default Smooth brush.

Masking can now be applied with LazyMouse with or without Backtrack modes.

Increased the tolerance to mouse/pen movement when assigning Hot Keys.

The transparent button is now enabled even if the current tool contains only one subtool. This allows ghosted transparency to be activated when entering HD edit mode.

The sampling value of the ZProject brush is now zero by default.

It is now possible to generate adaptive displacement and normal maps even when the mesh is partially hidden.

The "Show Mask" option will auto-activate when applying masking in Transpose mode.

ZBrush activation code has been updated to be less sensitive to hardware changes.

ZBrush can now auto-group by UV Tiles even if the Tiles resides in the negative UV space.

Fixed the 2.5D Blur brush with ZAdd mode.

Once again pixologic delivers a solid sculpting package. I just love what pixologic has done with the new version. Zspheres-2 is perhaps its most innovative feature. In addition, Z3.5 comes with several new brushes such as Trim, Planar, Noise, Move, Spherical, Slide, Form, and Flakes. The new surface tools alow you to carve any hard edge details making it possible to sculpt non-organic surfaces. You can also download many useful addons like Subtool and Decimation Master. I love it! Thanks Pixologic.

So umm....

Whatever happened to releasing Go z?

It'd be so funny if mac zbrush got spotlight but not zspheres 2, planar tools.

That would encourage people to buy a second license for whatever OS version they are currently lacking.

Whatever happened to releasing Go z?

I have been wondering this as well...

According to Pixologic, GoZ for PC is to be released when 3.5 for Mac is released, which currently has not had its release date announced.

10 October 2009, 02:29 AM
hahah wow we are screwed than.

10 October 2009, 03:36 AM
Thats a real shame, I was looking forward to GoZ. I came back to zbrush used to be mudbox user. Also when will all the plugins be updated ?

10 October 2009, 12:59 PM
And when will there be a demo of 3.5 ?

Demo page still refers to 3.1 version.

Maybe a month after the final version of 3.5 is released. The mac version is still awaiting and there has been no confirmation when this will be released. In other words, your guess is as good as mine and whatever anyone says here, no-one apart from pixologic knows.

I own a Mac so if I want to have the version 3.5 all I have to do is buy the current version and then download 3.5 for Mac when it comes out?

11 November 2009, 09:28 PM
Yes. It's a free upgrade when 3.5 eventually comes to the Mac.

Thanks, just bought Zbrush and updated everything. Can't wait for the update, but I'm digging it right now.
