I started this project a month ago but didnt think it was possible to finish until recently, so I'm going to back track and show some wip. Hopefully the next 20 days should be full of stuff.

The concepts for the characters. Consists of two guards, SS soldier and the old man. Inspired by the design of animations from Gobelins (France). Simple designs, not much texture/detail, but interesting silhouettes. This is set in an alternate universe where in 1940s they had more of 80's technology. Like video surveilance etc.

Software: After Effects

Really... really rough animatic. I spent less than 10mins putting this together so excuse the bad camera moves :P
Anyway most important think with this is its only 30 seconds long... Next is the animation wip.

Looking at other entries I feel so behind :(

Oh well.. so long as we are all making kick ass videos right? :D

Anyway what you see here are the basic 4 rigs. No props included yet...The proportions are subject to change once I get the meshes done.

Soon soon... Renders wont be started until 2 weeks from now. Its not unusual that I only have 3 weeks to do this stuff... One day I'll set my own times :)

Also if you want to know what you are up against.. have a look at Tyson Ibele's animation.
That guy never ceases to amaze me.

So I'm still in this comp. I'm working crazy on the animation at the moment, but here are two of the models that are 90% done. As long as I finish the animation I'm fine :) wip soon.

A few things to note as well.

Originally I had an environment artist lined up, but he has some problems with his day job so he is unable to help out so sadly, this whole thing had to be done by... well... me.

Good news is I'm getting some help with Voice and folley work. Music is sounding great and I can imagine this being done pretty well by thursday.

I'm glad I chose the low-fi look because my render times are minimal. Current this thing is clocking out at 1500 frames, which is about 10 hours rendering max.

I am using proper project management for this so I know I'm about 80% of the way there.

Anyway I'm jealous of all the great looking entries :)

We are nearly there... Today we are polishing anims and sound. Honestly its incredible how much we have done in 48 hours. I just woke up after staying up till 4am.
