I can not figure out what is this meterial for. I feel like i can do with mia meterials either(i now it is not there must be something uniqe about that) . Can anybody show any render what makes this uniqe.

I think some of the MIB nodes are older nodes that are rarely used. the MIA is able to do most of the things that the MIB can do. The mib_refract is used with the mib_reflect and mib_blinn which i think equals the maya blinn. ...maybe

Mainly for custom phenomena, I supose..., to build your custom phen shader..., but it's pretty old...,same thing for DGS material...MIA works berree and faster...
