View Full Version : Help with metal material - oil-rubbed bronze

I'm having a rough time with a particular metal material for an interior design project, and have spent considerable time trying to develop a suitable material. At an impass, I'm hoping someone else has worked with a similar material for an arch/viz project and has some tips.

It's Kohler's "oil-rubbed bronze" metal:

Here are my (pathetic) attempts so far, using mia_material_x and tweaking the various metal presets:

I really don't want to have to go into UV maps for this part of the project, and would almost just settle for a black brushed metal then perhaps paint in some highlights in post or maybe composite a bronze render over a black one and erase a few spots...

Alternatively, one could model the bronze-only areas, but that is also rather painful at this point.

Any ideas would be much appreciated!

Never used it, but sounds like this might be useful?

Apple OS-10 only. Does look helpful, though. Perhaps I can come up with something similar.

When you're right, you're right Redbranch! Thanks for the heads-up, I simply misread the page and now I'll give it a shot and see if it helps... Looks promising, hopefully it'll play nice with the mia_x_material too!
