View Full Version : Mental Ray Toon Shading Help

HI Guys

I was wondering if anyone can help out with getting a toon shader to work. I have gotten the toon shader to look decent, but the contour is not giving me the desired look that I am after. What I am after is:

Now I am able to get the sillohette contour looks great, but I am unable to get the contour around the mouth and in the ears working correcty. Now I am using the shaded two tone for the skin and contours enabled on the shader group. And under the mental ray settings contours enabled. I can get the mouth to have a contour, when I ajust the normals contrast under the draw By Sample Contrast. But then the contour looses it smoothness and becomes jagged.

Can any one offer me some advice?
