Hey everyone, we finally finished the trailer for "The Clockwork Girl" directed by me, and created by all of us at Frogchildren Studios. (http://forums.cgsociety.org/www.frogchildren.com)
The official site is here:
And a nice HD version is on Vimeo here:
Long time CGTalk members may remember the main character here being featured over five years ago. After all that time he's finally come to life.
And he's sad.
Please let me know what you think! More from us soon!

Looks wonderful. When will it be out?

Ultimately up to the distributor/producer types, but I'm leaning toward summer 2011

I thought the clockwork girl was very interesting. I love the animation and art.
At risk of sounding picky, there was only one thing that bothered me. The circuit was closed, then when he pulled the switch and broke contact, electricity flowed. It looked like events and cause and effect were backwards.
Other than that it was wonderful and I would like to see the finished film.

This is the most beautiful stylized short I have ever seen. I was always intrigued of the concept of steam punk and final someone brings it to life. I remember the the award wining Tinkerer (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?f=121&t=85271)
It was my inspiration for my VFS demo reel (www.youtube.com/user/NicholasSilveira) (http://www.youtube.com/user/NicholasSilveira)
I really hope you can take this even further.

This is a strong overall piece of 3d in my opinion. Great renders and just a great overall feel. The style of the characters work so well together and I think this could really work well as a feature. Let's hope we get to see a lot more of The Clockwork Girl! Well done. Definately award worthy!

Wonderful look and overall design!
My critique would be on the music and the old film effect...
the music i tought was not up to par with the rest of the film and the old film effect seemed a bit amateurish in my opinion-
excellent stuff non the less

Thanks for the kind words everybody.
pepurr (http://forums.cgsociety.org/member.php?u=387116)- yikes, we'll fix it for the movie, I swear!
veljko-lemonade (http://forums.cgsociety.org/member.php?u=49530)- I disagree about the music (I really like it!), but I completely agree about the film grain. I will have it removed on future versions.
Aben-Athar (http://forums.cgsociety.org/member.php?u=340872)- It's a teaser trailer for a full feature that we're working on as we speak. Glad you like it!
Looks nice! Maybe bit to much showing, shorter trailer would have the same effect or even better.
Can't wait for the full movie!
To the hole team and Sean;) , keep up to good work!

Qualize (http://forums.cgsociety.org/member.php?u=300613)> I'm sure the next cut will be much shorter with additional shots from the rest of the movie. Stay tuned!
