View Full Version : fundamental question: how to round up a box with a normamap in tangent space?

hi i have a fundamental question concerning normalmaps that i also posted on waynes mudboxhub
initially i had a problem, baking a wooden sculpted cupboard to lowpoly geometry.
everytime the normals just bend crazy around flat faces.
so the essence of this question is, how can i bake round corners onto a low poly box in tangent space..

ok problem semi solved.
seems that bevels are needed ( anyway..

nevertheless i found out, that the 3dsmax baker handles this situation
