View Full Version : Subdiv reconstruction failed! .. ahhhh whhyyy!

I double checked my uvs .. nothing is overlapping they are layed out perfectly... but for some reason this GEO won't reconstruct.. I have NO triangles in my mesh! .. could it possible be anything else?

i did my UVS in modo .. is there any other software/script out there that can reverse subdivide?

any help will be great..i am loosing my mind :(

here is a obj of part of my mesh that is no reconstructing if anyone feels like lending a hand.. i am fresh out of idea's.. :(

It looks to be at the point where it cannot be reconstructed again and maintain all quads. You cannot continually reconstruct, you get to the point where the shape is in its simplest form. I may be wrong but you would need at least an even number of points to be able to make less and you have an odd number.

If you want to just reduce the number of polys you can use the decimation master zscript but that will give you all tris.
