View Full Version : Houdini Course in S. Monica (CA): Physically Based Rendering - in Mantra

07 July 2009, 11:50 AM
This class will be about PBR - Physically Based Rendering - in Mantra. PBR is a physically based unbiased pathtracing engine which can be used to efficiently create very realistic images. This class will begin with talking about what that means and why it matters, then we'll dive into making some PBR shaders and renders. We'll look at Deep Rasters and Per Light Exports in PBR, and rebuild a beauty pass in COPs. We'll finish up by working with the PBR Engine itself - the VEX Pathtracer shader. All are welcome to participate, but attendees should ideally have some familiarity with Houdini. The instructor for this course is Brian Burke. Brian is working as an Artist/Technical Intern at Side Effects for the next six months before returning to sunny Philadelphia to finish his BS in Digital Media at Drexel University. At Drexel University, Houdini is used in a variety of areas within the curriculum including Advanced Animation, Shader Writing, Particle Systems and Immersive World Building.

This course its just 25 bucks!!!

Seconding you, I'm willing to absorb every material they release on the subject ! CMIVFX tutorials on rendering where a good start, but I need more !
