View Full Version : XSI in Linux Crashed

someone uses xsi in linux? I am using geforce2 go 32M ddr, and i installed the nvidia driver, running at 1400x1050 16bit color, and it's great, but when i run xsi, it says sth like "RPCSS ServiceMain failed with 14 (000000e)" ,
and after a few secs, xsi starts up, but when it comes to the last stage, just about the show the viewport, it crashes, saying "attempting throw, abort......"

is it sth wrong with the settings in the video driver? or....

I am using RedHat Linux 7.3, nvidia driver 1.0.2880

did you try a more conventional resolution ( 1280*1024*32) ?

no, mmmm, i will try, but 1400 is the native resolution for the LCD of my laptop, so even if it works on 1280, it's not very nice.

it's works fine under xp though.

i am thinking if xsi is really better in linux. is it faster, more stable? anyone with any idea?
