For most of the model there are more than enough polygons to work to the detail i require
However in one region, no matter how much i subdivide, the subdivisions and resulting new polys dont seem to have as great a benefit in this region as they do over the rest of the body.
In this region there is a lot of detail that was not reflected in the original base mesh.
I am sure this whole problem is related to the flow of my base model and the lack of edge loops in this region.
What should i do?
i dont want to keep subdividing, as 1 i have an older slower system and 2 this is creating more geometry over the whole model rather than in just one area.
I am aware that i could retopologise the whole model, but i dont really want to do this as for the most part most of the model is ok.
Would it be possible to export the lowest subdivision level to 3dmax, add extra geometry to the required area, re import said model to zbrush and then somehow project the high poly model back onto the newly altered lower detail model?
or can i locally add detail/edge loops to the lowers subdiv in zbrush and the project the higher res version back onto it?
If so what is this process called?
Which tools would be used?
Can anyone give a step by step or point to a relevant video/tutorial?
Thanks for reading this i know i go into a lot of detail.
