Hey there,

Matte painter Roger Gibbon's credits stretch from 'Red Corner' to the 'Moon,' with side trips through the last two 'Matrix' films and into 'Sin City.' His is an amazing story of perseverance and well worth a read.

Thanks for a very inspiring piece. I would consider myself a casual artist, someone who enjoys drawing and animating but I doubt myself and my techniques and feel afraid to push myself beyond the casual. Being from london, I can relate somewhat to Roger's history. Obviously I'm unsure of other parts of the world, but art (and especially animation) is never something that is celebrated enough and almost feels out of reach.

Apologies for the rant about myself, and again very inspiring.

I highly recommend watching moon, I saw it last night and it was absolutely amazing. They just nailed the visuals.

Well done to you Mr. Gibbon.

I'm seething with jealousy :o) It's still a month away for the UK.
