I'm very excited about this challenge. I've had several ideas for an entry, but, I think I've finally landed on one that I'm satisfied with. I have finished the short script, and I should be adding some storyboards soon, but here is the rough idea... In 2016, the 46th President of the United States is assasinated. Agent Jack Baringer travels back in time to meet his father, James Baringer who is with the Secret Service. Together they purpose to change history and prevent this terrible event in the future. My entry is planned to be in the form of a trailer. The main concerns of this work is to show the contrasts between technology, and culture, yet, the never changing nature of the work, and of course the common purpose of fighting terrorism that the right may ultimately win. Looking forward to seeing more of the other entries as well. Thanks to all who is making this challenge possible. More to come soon...

Here's the first model I have made for the competition. I've got some storyboards coming soon. I plan for my entry to have a fair mixture of live action and 3D elements. I'm definately going for a photoreal look for the 3D elements though. So any advice on that front would be greatly appreciated. I plan to do more texturing work on the gun later, these were just quick drop ons for the render.

Here's some updated work on the gun. I've modeled a simple barrell for the sniper rifle now. Remember, this is 2016, so, it needs to be futuristic, but not too much, b/c that's only 7 years from now. However, time travel will be available so, I've got to reallys sell a realistic "time machine;" I guess that's going to be a challenge. Anyway, this is what I have so far on the gun. Storyboards to come...

Here's the basic bullet model. My plan is to have some sort of targeting system reflecting on the shooter's eye, then, a shot of the sniper aiming, then cam moves through the scope and over the barrel, gun fires, and then cam continues to follow the bullet until it hits the intended target whom is the 46th Pres. of the U.S. I'm not sure how to rig the bullet because, I want it to "break out" at the top to release bird shot like pellets. Any advice on that would be greatly appreciated. I've never done a rig before.

This will be the "tv" that our main character Agent Baringer will see for the first time that the 46th Pres. of the United States has been assisinated. I havn't decided whether or not this should be in his house or some kind of headquarters for agents in his time. More to come soon.

Hey man looking nice. Like your idea, very cool. Kinda reminds me a little of a mix between terminator and james bond. Want to see the movie already.
Models are looking cool to. Looking foward to seeing the story boards

the television looks very good, will it be half-transparent?
Unfortunatly, i think that this is the first model which fits your goal to make a photoreal look, the others looks to smooth in my eyes, more like comic-style. I hope you can improve them.
I am curious about the storyboard as well.

Thanks for the comments guys!
DarkBlueArt: Thanks for the comment about the TV. I havn't really done any texture work on any of the models yet. These are just quick drop-ons. Hopefully after I get some time to texture them, then they will look more photorealistic. The TV will be more transparent; you can't tell in this render, but that glass will be able to be seen through, except for the areas where there is video.
Galvaniseoil: I appreciate your comments. A mixture between Terminator and Bond would be awesome! haha. I hope I can do it justice.
I've been directing a live event this whole week, and was in deep preparation for it for the last couple of weeks. So, that's why I havn't posted much lately. After our last live broadcast which is Wednesday night (July 8th), I should be more free to work on my entry. If you'd like to see my work, it'll be streamed live on the internet at 7:30PM ET at www.gbntv.org (http://www.gbntv.org)
More to come soon...
