A quick render in Carrara, still working on the hair to get it to "gather" properly.

No textures yet, created the shades in Hexagon.

Working like mad... lucky I have a Cintiq.
Transfering the tattoo's from the reference materials sent to me by Dan himself. This is his chest tat, I'm just replicating it a close as I can on the pelt. Most of his tats will be covered with special armour. I'll need to add some grain.

Well, you can go to www.danfastuca.com (http://www.danfastuca.com) and find out, he is also going to be on TV August 8th, Corvette unveils its GT2 series race car. Dan will be playing Star Spangle Banner for the Race that day.

If you like music like Ozzy, Crue... you' ll like his music, very energetic stuff.

Getting the colour correct for a California tan as well as adjusting the tattoo's (The Tatts, were the hardest part, but I used Hexagon to map them onto the 3D figure.)

Starting off in Hexagon creating Armour for Dan's 3D body, I'm going for a Scifi/Mad-max feel. Lots of buckles and built-in gadgets.

Not much in this picture but its how I start.

For the record:

I'm using a base Daz Hiro v3 model, added a few morphs to get the basic muscular look.
I've created my own texture maps using Hexagon and Photoshop 5.5
I created the hair in Carrara 6pro as it will be my rendering software.

I'll be adding a displacement-map to add more definition to the model's face using Hexagon, this will give the model more of a chiseled look.

The Hiro Model is likely the only thing that I have not created from scratch. All the armours, weapons, flying objects and Vehicles will be created from scratch using Hexagon 2.5 and trueSpace 7.6

Created some displacement on Dan's face ro make him look a little more "chiseled" that smooth-faced.

The progress on the armour for Dan.
I pulled off the sleeves to work on this a little better. Created the buckle and latches. There is an armour shell that will attach to this vest portion, as well as shoulder pads. As with all custom conforming clothes, its best to detach the arms and add them separately as stand-alone figures in Carrara (just like poser conforming clothes).

Working in Hex, I just got Carrara 7 pro so I will attempt to use the painting and UV tools in there for the first time.

Trying out the armour on the figure, I'm going to adjust some weightmaps but its starting to come together here.
