Well here goes.... I've got a few months spare so thought I would attempt a go at this.

I really want to try and create something that looks visually different or if not different, at least exciting in someway. I'm going to try and create a short spy story created in a visually animated comic book style. I need to create a lot of tests to see if I can achieve what's going on in my head! I want to create depth by using 5-6 layered foreground and background elements with continuous camera motion.

Anyway, the piece will involve a combination of live footage, photo's, drawing's and 3d to attempt the effects. I'm still unclear how to approach the live plate as I have no available green screen to use. I was contemplating using 6 frames per second and manually cutting out the actors, this way there would be a staggered "cartoony" motion. I'm not sure yet though.

The image I've posted is a very quick test of the effect. I just grabbed a photo for the background and applied levels in photoshop and likewise with the image of the actor. I tried lots of different filters and manual effects but without increasing a huge workflow this seemed to do the trick for now.

Interesting idea. Would be cool to see this in motion.

Good luck,

Very, very, very quick sketch of the main spy with night vision goggles! These will be created in 3d and matched to the real actors face ( hopefully )
