hay there. this is my first entry for somthing like this so i apologise if i seem massivly newbie. but here goes.

my rough plan is to make a character who is getting ready to go out for a job/mission. he or she (havnt decided yet) will be in their office. putting on the classic brown trench on, with the classic hat. how ever the character will have a body of mecha, or some kind of exoskellitan suit. so a good mix of clasic and not so classic.

after trawling through my old concept sketches i found some ref for the mecha look i wanna go for

ill get on with a concept sketch asap.

please comment

very very very rough. but it gives u a general idea. i like the idea of having her lips showing up alot. maybe not having her eyes showing so they are like under the hat. i promis things will get better once i get into 3d stuff, so bear with me....

rough pre sketch. after talking to a make of mine he sugestsed that i made some changes to the concept. going for somthing after a missions is finished.... eg blow some S**T up

ok rough sketch concepting the armour. i think its a bit too bulky for a secret agent. tho i do like some of the design elements. so ill be doing another design soon... so watch this space, might try basing it more on muscle scrtucture, than join support.

ok this one im more happy with. followed the idea of a suit based on muscles. had a moment of inspiration with the back pack. basing it on an artifical hear/blood cleaning thing. which pumps round some kind of fluid that makes the artifucal muscles work.

in 3d i will probably have some kind of pulsing circet bords in the muscle groups to add a little flair. so now i gotta do a final paint up

the armour is starting to come togther. i like the blue veigns in the muscles gives it a little somthing... just hope i can pull it off when i go into 3d

thanks very much. im finaly starting on the 3d side of things. found a base image to model the face to. will post WIP once i get to the lips. as i want opinions on the loops.

here goes. the start of my spys face. general plan is to make and map in 3d max, detail in zbrush and texture in photoshop.

god knows how im gunna do the hair... any sugesttions.

also what u guys think of the typologie? any tips or susgestions greatly apreachated.

latest armor iteration is pretty slick, are you set on having a female? I was a fan of your first idea to keep the eyes in shadow and bright up the red lips.

Good job so far.

I'd say your topology should be fine... since it's not gonna be animated, you should concentrate on getting the forms right. I would recommend relaxing some parts of your geometry though.

As for hair, since you're using Max, why not use the hair that comes with it? But then again, I don't know what kind of style you're going for.

ok the head finished. ears eyes and teath. she looks fairly intresting. but it will be more intresting once i get her into zbrush. next i will do some zbrush experiments for the amrour.

also i left her feet without toes as they will be in armour... and toes are complex to make XP...

once i get her finished to this stage i will pose her in zbrush to see whats what... so stay tuned...

ok, here she is. in the pose i see her in for the final thing. there will be a pistol in her hand. and im still debating about covering her eyes... but we will see. any sugestions please post.

damm shes sexy... dangerous... but sexy...

probably will work on the armour next. and the pistol. saving the trench coat for last ... as thats gunna be painful...

I may be seeing things but her hands look very elongated. Is that from the transpose in ZBrush?

possably... im kinda newbie with z brush transpose... not got all the techniques. now u mention it her fingers are very long

rough idea for the gun she carrys. concept of 2 guns joined togther. a simple automatic pistol. and a 4 chamberd revolver which can be loaded with specalist ammo...

grenades, shotgun shells, slug rounds, tracters etc etc

ill detail it as i got with the rest of it...

at this point im just trying to rough out the shapes before tackeling the main event. still need to do uvw channels and all that jaz...

shes starting to look good tho hehe...

I love your work! As far as your UV'ing goes, I just discovered a program called UVLayout that supposed to make UV mapping 100x faster and easier. There's a free trial you can try out. See if it helps you out at all. =D

tadar, shes starting to get there... tho im kinda unsure how to use the model. its somthing like export at low poly level, and export a normal map for the detailing isnt it?

any way tell me what u think. and ill be moving onto texturing where ill get more detail in the models armour, like cross hatched materail and such i promis...

put the model back into max.... wow i need to sort out the typologie badly... gunna probbaly have to re model the remodel... talk about a steep learning curve

after a week of fiddeling i finaly get the normal maps to work.... only to find i made a massive mistake with the heads uvws....

might have to re model it T_T again.

the armour looks alot better now. im about mid way throught detailing it now. so fingers crossed. after a meeting with one of my uni tutors he pointed out the armour was way too bulky and that i needed to be more subtle which i hope ive acheived...

Hey! Nice work C. Its looking great so far. If you take her into ZB try using projection master on her. it will help sharpen details. its how i worked my gun out. cheers! :D

ok.... finaly starting to get some where with the design. so far only got the normal map and basic colours in, need to do detailing and such.

so please bear with me. also not convinced about the hair... need to look at more designs hehe.
