Hello all!

The topic this time is really irresistable, I can't wait to see what everybody will do with it. :-)

Hopefully I'll be able to finish this time, I've already an idea ... sort of a 'spy against spy' theme: two gorgeous superspies (two ladies, but I think those of you who know me had already guessed), each of them trying to play a dirty trick on the other.

And most of all...have fun!

06 June 2009, 01:14 PM
woohooooo!! :bounce: hop on bro! :D :P this is definitely something you love!
reading your concept .. it's gonna rock! :buttrock:
good luck Tiz!

06 June 2009, 01:17 PM
Look who's there! Great to see you, bro. :-)

Thanks for your vote of confidence. I can't wait to start sketching, but there's a commission I need to finish first (hopefully during this week-end).

06 June 2009, 02:22 AM
Whoah! You're back, and once again I have no doubt you'll be treating us to some more illustration magic. Great to see you in another challenge. Good luck buddy

06 June 2009, 03:51 PM (

Here's some inspirational material to get my thinking gear in motion.

The location photos are all mine, and might come in play later, none of the ladies, of course will be 'cast' in the role of my agents but all of them have something (beauty, attitude, glamour or any combination of the three)that I hope to capture for my protagonists.

My concept was very loosely inspired by quite a few hours of fun playing 'Spy vs. Spy' on my C64 many years ago.

06 June 2009, 03:58 PM
2 girls, who are spies, trying to pull a dirty trick on eachother....:buttrock: YEA ITS GUNNA ROCK:buttrock: i am very much looking forward to the finished product. good luck

06 June 2009, 05:45 PM
Mark! :) Thanks for visiting, pal, it's always a pleasure to read you. Are you entering too? I really hope so.
C4th whoa! Your enthusiasm is really appreciated, I hope you'll like the journey and the final too.
snake08 Thanks for the vote of confidence! Not really sure anybody has anything to worry about, though ;)

06 June 2009, 07:51 PM
Love the idea-The concept here is something I caught myself in during one of my hours long gaming episodes (Not Video, believe it or not. Dating myself? Mabye.). Can't wait to see how this progresses.

06 June 2009, 07:58 PM
hey man :D ace to 'see' you here :)

( awesome collarge, loving your source material ... the matrix still is my favorite! )
can't wait to see what you come up with.

I did a bit of brainstorming today, I'm still wavering a bit between an action image and a subtler, calmer scene.
Anyway, this is the first option, a narrow escape: agent A has got her prize and is hitching a pre-arranged ride (guess there's a 'copter up there) with Agent B hot in pursuit. not quite sure if Agent A gadget will be a spray of gas that is glueing/blocking the weapon trigger or whip-like and wrapping itself around the hand.
Opinions, comments, suggestions? :)

hmph.. a whip-like gadget would suggest they are partners ( I think), while the gas spray would probably suggest otherwise and adds a bit of humor (she got owned right there lol)
I think in this situation if agent B got that close with a gun its safe to assume there are partners. Kool concept, will be watching your progress:cool:

Hey Tiziano,

Always a pleasure to see you and your work on the CGS challenges my friend!! :D
Really great start. Like a lot your concept and cool first WIP, great composition on it. Looking forward for more updates! Cheers!

06 June 2009, 10:51 AM
Hey ol' mate :) Looking good already. Good luck :)

06 June 2009, 03:27 AM
Yep, like the others said, a great start. Thank you for the kind encouragement too but this time I won't be entering. But I will be dropping by and know you'll be amazing us with your work

06 June 2009, 02:05 PM
Fernando, Martin, Mark, thank you very much! Glad you all like the first idea :D.
Given that there is time (I'm not aiming to put in many characters this once, just the two ladies so the painting itself won't take to long), I'll try out some different sketches before settling on one and refining it.

I want to experiment with dramatic point-of-views : from below, from above, slanted... Stay tuned for the next one ;)

Sorry you aren't in this time, Mark, but I'm counting on you to keep me in line, ok? :-)

06 June 2009, 02:23 PM
Oops, sorry Darwinsmishap and Neubius and snake08 ! I was sure to have answered...

thank you very much for the encouragement, I hope to have your company during this journey.
Neubius, Niobe was my favored female character in Matrix, with Zee a close second.
Nobody kill me, but Trinity felt a bit like 'one of the guys' to me, a, how can I say, 'neutral' (or neuter) figure .

Got your point, snake08, will try to make their rivalry a bit more immediate.

DarwinsMishap, great minds think alike (or was it 'game alike'? ;) )

06 June 2009, 02:27 PM
bro! sexy ladies are in your hands once again! :scream: me looking forward to more concepts! ... also, since you're playing with point of view .. i thought you may find this helpful ... (

see how it works, coz i actually thought about the drop zone scene in the latest star trek movie .. awesome camera angle! you could show them two ladies battling it out in a direct way ;)

good luck bro! have fun! :p

06 June 2009, 05:44 PM (

Here's another option:

Agent A is downloading important files/uploading false info...just moments ahead of Agent B who was after the same quarry or is it counter-espionage?

The choice is yours.

06 June 2009, 06:40 PM
Nice babes again :) You sure have good sense of posing. At first I actually "misinterpreted" the top females pose, but I get it totally now...

06 June 2009, 07:18 PM
Again another kool concept, awesome perspective :applause:

06 June 2009, 08:18 AM
Cool scene. THe last is very interestig...dramatic...and..Sexy..;)

06 June 2009, 12:24 AM
I like the way you're pushing the 'camera angles' and comps to add interest and drama. Great stuff, buddy

06 June 2009, 01:26 AM
looks like a good start from ur sketches. Loooking forward for more updates:thumbsup:

06 June 2009, 01:41 AM
I like the last one, cool and sexy camera angle. Great sketch! Good luck man!

06 June 2009, 06:43 PM
Wow, Nevs! Talking about 'extreme' angles... Another sketch is coming with a more 'face to face' approach, looking forward to your input.

Martin thank you! If I go on with this one I'll make sure that the values help reading the depth (guess that was part of the mis-interpretation?).

snake08, OZ Thank you very much. :)

Mark, thanks pal! I think I really need to work on pushing the PoV in my pieces, to give them some punch, and what better exercise than such a topic as this? :D

nandlaskar Thank you, hope you'll stay around :)

Madness-of-Hamlet A thousand thanks, and good luck to you too!

Another sketch would come in a while, I'd love your opinion on it... :D

06 June 2009, 07:52 PM (

And here is option number three in fact it could be just a few minutes after number 2 (or before number 1):
Agent A had what she wanted and was making good her escape, but was intercepted by Agent B bent on retrieving the info or getting it for her side, things got a bit heated here.

I'm treating this Challenge as if it was an industry assignement with a rather open briefing. Would you be so obliging as to play Art Director for me?

Which of the three work better for you? Or which elements do?

Thank you very much!

06 June 2009, 09:25 PM
Wuhuuu! I can see a helicopter in this one. I love those :) I think it works. But be careful not to make it look like the beginning of an "adult" scene.

06 June 2009, 09:37 PM
Oops! I realize it's very scribbly but the nearest agent is wearing a kind of catsuit (the other one wears a qipao), guess what I meant as seams reads like underwear in the sketch...

Glad you like the 'action' and helicopter angle :)

06 June 2009, 04:18 AM
great sketches all over, the latest ones looks alil too saucy :D ill keep lurking in for more mate:)

06 June 2009, 10:43 AM
yikes ! it is quite saucy! :D
nice dynamic composition however. maybe a slight alteration of the pose ?

06 June 2009, 11:00 AM
I like the contrast between the heli action outside and the more secret kind of thing happening in the room.

keep it up man!

06 June 2009, 11:49 AM
Thank you all for the comments! :-)

I think the third sketch it's the one then. :-)
One thing, though: gauging from your reactions, I think I hit some kind of cultural thing I cannot really see, so I definitely need your help.

Why does it read as 'saucy' or risquè for you?

Is the clothing? (the catsuit will be redesigned to avoid the 'underwear' look and the other agent can be dressed in a different way if the qipao is too much).

Is it the posing? As I saw it the agent in the sunshades dove to get out of the way of the other's gunfire, losing the documents in the process and is now scrambling to arm herself, the foot's positioning avoids any crotch-shot , but if needed the position can be adjusted too.

Would it read as 'saucy' if 'Sunshades' wore trousers?

06 June 2009, 12:42 PM
The third may be the best...but I feel the agent too much...mmmh...relaxed.
I expect she point the gun or strike some kind of feline pose.
The second is a bit less interesting but have far more pathos.
Anyway..GREAT DRAWINGS

06 June 2009, 12:49 PM
yeah i believe it's the pose, depends entirely on what she wearing i guess :)

06 June 2009, 06:56 PM
Well. Denmark, where I come from, is VERY liberal when it comes to these things. And still I must say, when I picture those two painted with a lot of skin color... well, they are about to have a good time together. Sorry for being a guy here. But I'm sure the final poses and colors will clear my thoughts :)

06 June 2009, 07:30 PM
Neubius : got it, thanks! Clothing has been changed.

MartinNielsen: Lol! This teaches me not to draw any frills that could be mistaken for underwear ;)

OZ, Oh my, thank you! ...And your suggestion and my fondness for dual-wielding characters combined. :)

I'll post the revised sketch in a moment, hope you all will like it.

06 June 2009, 07:36 PM (

Sketch 3 seemed the overall best, but, according to comments and suggestions needed a bit of fine tuning to avoid possible awkward interpretations and to add a bit of tension.

Here is the revision, 'Sunshades' now wears trousers, agent A's catsuit has been redesigned and she's got another gun.

Better? Worse? Forget it and start again? :-)

06 June 2009, 08:29 PM
PERFECT!! TAHT'Z IT!:buttrock: the scene now have an incredible tension!!! looks like the agent stop the second girl before she take the gun and shoot!! Congrats...u did it!

06 June 2009, 05:11 PM
So far, I like how you're progressing. I don't know about the foreground gun, though... Perhaps a gadget, or hand-held? I'm not sure, it just bothers me a bit-too close to the body, bad angle? I'm sorry I can't give a better viewpoint on that, I'm working with an instinct here.

I love this POV-really like how this is coming along!

06 June 2009, 10:30 AM
OZ, Thank you! Than that's it, I'll make a polished drawing of this one.

DarwinsMishap thank you very much. IMO listening to instinct often pays off. I'll be careful with that gun and double check everything about it, likely it will get some changes.

Nice composition! Looking forward to seeing color and detail!
good luck!
