06 June 2009, 06:07 AM
Michor Chun Lin Lu is entered in the "Secret Agent" update: View Challenge Page (

Latest Update: Final Image: Holy Crap! (

06 June 2009, 06:15 AM
Good luck everyone. I just hope I'll have the time for this one.

06 June 2009, 07:09 PM (

Basically, I want to portray the secret agent being really angry because one of his "acquaintances" gets shot and dies in the middle of a shoot out session. Yeah... it's pretty cliched.

06 June 2009, 09:52 PM
Hum, this pose is very interesting! Good luck!

06 June 2009, 07:28 PM (

I decided to go for a different idea (didn't like that last one).

Story: A secret agent is on a mission and infiltrates a church as a nun. Since she is really beautiful, the perverted priest decides to do a little peeping while she is changing. Not only does he see her nude, he sees other things as well.

06 June 2009, 07:30 PM
Thanks alessandrolima.

I guess I'm not going for the first idea anymore (unless everyone thinks it's better).

06 June 2009, 12:35 PM (

Here's an update. Arms, hands and legs still need work.

I would appreciate some crits and suggestions.

06 June 2009, 12:38 PM
Oh... I've decided that she's not gonna be nude anymore. :)

06 June 2009, 02:00 PM
......damn! :)

06 June 2009, 02:52 PM
The model looks great with clothes on anyway. I like the concept.

06 June 2009, 03:22 PM
cpt-elektro, Umbral: Thanks man!!! :)

06 June 2009, 01:54 PM
very nice work and i like the pose too
but dont u think that the size of the head is too big for her body !

06 June 2009, 02:25 PM
nice work in zbrush. looking forward for more updates :)

06 June 2009, 02:45 PM (

Another update. I'm still deciding whether I should use this habit or use the old traditional habit....

06 June 2009, 02:48 PM
bsb: Thanks man. I guess I've been staring at this model too long.... thanks for the crit. :)

nandlaskar: Thanks!

06 June 2009, 03:08 PM
Quite an interesting topic/idea.
Great promise.

Does her head seem a little larger for her body? Just wondering.

Nice zbrush stuff

06 June 2009, 03:44 PM
smallone3d: Thanks!! You're probably right about the head. Thanks for the suggestion.

06 June 2009, 06:41 AM
updates, updates..:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :arteest: , hello man, want to see some more action here please..haha
btw i agree about the head, its always give a more heroical look when head is smaller than normal, just a little bit.,
but is looking great overall keep going man

06 June 2009, 10:26 AM
rattlesnake: Thanks man. Updates are coming soon... didn't have a lot of time to work on it in the past week. Thanks for the crit!! :)

06 June 2009, 01:12 PM (

Another update. Busy blocking out the background and just a quick light setup. The sphere is where the perverted priest is gonna be. My friends told me that I should lose the cowboy habit and go for a more traditional habit. Anyway, crits and suggestions appreciated.

06 June 2009, 01:57 PM
Much better than the previous version. Keep going! :)

06 June 2009, 02:12 PM
Interesting concept!

As I see, you have changed her position(upper body) a little bit, compare to the sketch you did before. Well I like the sketch scene more, it shows some excitement in the scene. Also you can put her clothes on the floor, those she was wearing before. And according to the sketch, the suitcase in front of her may look like an old one(old style) so that nobody can think a little about her secret.

Modeling is very nice, as you are working on it so will be much better for sure. What you did for posing, transpose if I am right?

keep updating . . . will be looking forward to it.

06 June 2009, 02:28 PM
nfuchs: Thanks for the comments. Really appreciate it!

Deepam: Thanks for the suggestions. I was thinking of having her nun uniform on the ground. As for posing, ye... it's transpose.

06 June 2009, 02:51 PM
Really good! The pose looks awesome, looking foward:)

06 June 2009, 04:19 PM
nice Michor ! i see you've been working. your stuff is looking great.

06 June 2009, 06:51 PM
digitalinkmind: Thanks man!!

Popsaart: Thanks Pappy!! Now where is your stuff??? Haven't seen any updates from you.

06 June 2009, 09:33 PM
Hi mate, looking good that modeling, she looks like a very efficient killer, yaiksss!!!

looking forward

06 June 2009, 01:41 AM
Nice idea here man, she is a sensual agent. It is great the contrast between the violence in the gun and the church scene. But I like more the first sketch because she has more nun clothes, not just the... I don’t know how it is call... that hat :P. I mean, she can be naked with... the hat in the head and wearing the nun skirt.

06 June 2009, 05:04 AM
hey man nice update, i like the more traditional habit going on now, and well i think that what the pose need is some more dynamic feel, in your sketch she looks more exagerated more dramatical, i ve been experimenting with some poses on my works and realized the most of them looks too static, so i decided my next one will have that exageration that im suggesting here, u know make all like more "theatrical". :lightbulb look the michael angelo piantings, men on them have this exageration (the battle of cascina is agood example ).

06 June 2009, 06:18 AM
rawgon: Thanks man!!! I must say your stuff is coming along really well!

Madness-of-Hamlet: Thanks for the comments and the crits!! I'm guessing what you're trying to say is, that she can be half naked with the nun skirt??

rattlesnake: You're right about the pose being too static. I'll need to do some more experiments with the pose. Thanks!!

06 June 2009, 06:43 AM
Sorry about my bad english hehe. Yes, what I mean is, in the last concept she is wearing a spaghetti strap shirt, and any girl wears a spaghetti strap shirt. If she is using a nun disguise, make her use only nun clothes.

I don't know what nuns use under the habit, and I don't want to know, but I think with a nun skirt covering part of his legs will fit nice. It is my modest suggestion. :D

06 June 2009, 12:06 PM
Madness-of-Hamlet: Oh yes... I'm gonna be placing her nun dress on the floor going over leg or something similar. Thanks for the suggestion.

06 June 2009, 12:43 PM (

I exaggerated her current pose.

06 June 2009, 01:56 PM
That looks really awesome! :deal: What kind of basemesh did you use for her?

06 June 2009, 05:00 PM
this is just simple and amazing!i love the model a lot. i am looking forward for the final composition.

06 June 2009, 05:33 PM
Samulart: Thanks man!! :) As for the basemesh, well, it's fairly simple but there is enough geometry for opening mouth and closing eyes if I need to. Maybe I'll show wires later on.

Irawan: Thanks for commenting. Really appreciate it.

06 June 2009, 05:45 PM
hey mate, i like what you did, and the sculpting is looking very cool, :arteest: , good job.

06 June 2009, 07:23 PM
Amazing model. It is a perfect combination of rigid, classic female portrait (head), and a loose and informal (yet dangerous) pose. I guess that's what you're aiming for and let me tell you you've nailed it, in my opinion :)

the only little thing that bothers me is her right index finger. Looks strange, but it could be the angle.

06 June 2009, 09:37 PM
rattlesnake: Thanks again!! I'm now awaiting your updates. :)

cristinagar: Thanks for your comments and crit. I'm constantly touching up the model every now and then when I get bored of the environment. So I'll get to the finger when I get back to her again.

07 July 2009, 10:28 PM
I think this is gonna look so cool! goodluck!

07 July 2009, 03:57 AM
hey mic, nice job on this, the anatomy looks pretty nice, and those legs are really sexy, also the way you act with drapery is very gently

looking forward to this great work

07 July 2009, 10:53 AM
The last pose is the best for the moment. Better "hat"...

07 July 2009, 11:13 AM
yes i also thing this is gonna look so cool,i need your skill for my secret agent.

07 July 2009, 03:13 PM
Nice concept man!! keep up!! The model are awesome!

07 July 2009, 11:54 AM
davidness, alshakno, gpepper, Irawan, jman7000: Thanks guys!!!

07 July 2009, 04:59 PM
Hi Mic,really nice model youve made, what about making the gun a little bit bigger, since she is a woman the gun should be a little bit bigger.good luck!!

07 July 2009, 04:38 AM
hey,nice work so far.Good luck.

07 July 2009, 07:43 AM
diissar: Thanks for the suggestion. Maybe just a tiny bit bigger. :)

rraj: Thanks!! :)

07 July 2009, 08:40 AM
Great job with folds and anatomy.
But there is something wrong with the face. Lips, nose are good, but the whole area around eyes doesn't look very natural. Eyebrow area (no idea how it's called in english) is inflated a bit too much and forms kinda Neanderthal scull:) Cheek-bones are very high, but that's ok, that can be. There is something that makes impression that eyes are not in the right place. If you could put other head views, that would be wonderful.

And as I said folds are extremely cool, very organic.

07 July 2009, 09:09 AM (

Started a bit with basic texturing and lighting. There's still props and gadgets that I want to add.

07 July 2009, 09:14 AM
germanager: Thanks for the crits. My friend has been telling me how the face doesn't appeal to her. I've been planning to get back on her once I've done a portion of enviroment. Thanks man!!

07 July 2009, 09:47 AM
Hey Micho, nice update

the composition is nice, i like her face expression on this angle
but the shadow on her lower body seems a little buggy to me, but I'm sure these kind of things will be solver in final postworks

keep up dude

07 July 2009, 09:55 AM
Nice update!
I think the face is ok and the expression is good.
Work more on the hands! :)

07 July 2009, 11:02 AM
alshakno: Thanks again for stopping by. Really appreciate it!!

nfuchs: Thanks man!! You're right about the hands... That's the first thing on my todo list that I need to sort out.

07 July 2009, 12:01 PM
Hi Mic,

This is turning out really great!
The only suggestion I would make is to add a very subbtle light to the priest's face, so that our eyes identify more clearly to where they should go after looking at the spy. It could be, for example, a warm light from a candle that he is holding or just a stronger rim light coming from the moon.
Just my 2cents! :applause:

07 July 2009, 01:12 PM
great progress. THe modeling is impressive. I just find the pose of the guy at the window a litlle to funny/cartoon in regard of the style of your picture.

07 July 2009, 02:17 PM
Zeoyn: Thanks!! I'm definitely going to be lighting up the priest more when I focus more on the lighting.

authentic: Thanks!! I think you're right. He doesn't seem like he's from the same universe.

07 July 2009, 06:45 PM
I love how we get the whole story at first glance. Nun + gun = secret agent, it's a perfect contrast. and on top of that, modeling is just great. be sure i'll check for updates every day :)

07 July 2009, 06:49 PM
Michor, this has got a great mood already: strangely dark and sexy with a stillness like a quite, tense moment in a film. I agree about the hands. I know with your texturing skills this will be really something and a firm contender.

Good luck, following the texturing. Please post as much of the making of now so we can all learn! :)

07 July 2009, 09:16 PM
haha.. that's a sexy nun!
Great modelling WIP!

07 July 2009, 09:50 PM
WOW! I love the concept! Absolutely :)))
It's funny and one knows what's going on - like Banjowanjo said.
I would suggest more guns and gadgets placed in front of her and if I were you - assuming you want it funny - I would place some "hello kitty" logo on her panties ;)

07 July 2009, 10:53 PM
Great scene this is :) Posing and lighting are excellent.

07 July 2009, 06:57 AM
the scene is coming along well buddy. keep it up. catch u soon.

07 July 2009, 02:41 PM
Hey mic ,

The scene is taking shape big time ! Everything's working really well , I especially like the lighting !

Great work , lokking for more !

cheers ,

07 July 2009, 03:18 PM
wow, the lighting is really working for this image.

07 July 2009, 06:29 PM
Banjowanjo, RogerNobs, ajitmenon, Katea, MartinNielsen, nandlaskar, Zapan and smallone3d:

Thanks guys!!! Your comments are really appreciated. I'll try to post as much wip as I can.

07 July 2009, 06:32 PM, now i understand better your scene, , i love the book on the floor wich seems to be a secret laptop am i right?, some one said you have to work more on the hands and i think that too, about the lights: are they candle lights? or wich is the main source of the ilumination? i think candles or torches can have a very cool effect there :)
i think this is looking great so far, now keep on::wip::wip::wip::wip:

07 July 2009, 06:51 PM
rattlesnake: Thanks man!! The book hides a secret communication device. As for the light source, it's primarily from the top.

07 July 2009, 09:15 PM
nice idea...the character looks great!

07 July 2009, 06:03 PM
U ABSOLUTLEY ROCK ON!!:buttrock:

An amazing idea ...incredible...rendered in an equal manner...
Im very impressed...

07 July 2009, 07:06 PM
Lighting's looking nice! Keep it going!

07 July 2009, 01:15 AM
Great stuff. I keep coming back to this impressive image.
Something about the perspective in the back does not look right.
Wonder if you could play with the focal length/ other settings to "warp"
the background. I guess it looks so...parallel.

just my thought.
But awesome...keep it coming.

07 July 2009, 02:29 PM
very nice update cool pose and model Keep it

07 July 2009, 08:47 PM
smallone3d: Thanks again for you crits and suggestions. One thing I'm afraid of doing when making my focal length shorter is the distortion I'll get with the character. I'll give it a try and see what results I get. Anyway, Thanks again. Really appreciate it.

melkao, OZ, ajitmenon, kiboSVK: Thanks for your comments!!! You guys really make me wanna take this to the end.

07 July 2009, 10:23 PM
Hey mic, This is really looking great! I wondered about the perspective of the objects in the background a bit too, but the character and lighting are so strong that it's really hard to notice.

Part of the issue might be that the table (alter?) on the right edge is on a slightly different plane than the chest directly behind the girl. The chest lines up parrallel with the window and molding on the back wall, but the alter is tweaked just slightly. Maybe if it was either tweaked more... or even lined up with the same plane as the back wall?

Just another quick thought... I wonder if you could render the back ground seperatley from the foreground with a slightly different focal length to cheat? The current Focal length on the character works really well and keeps her from distorting at the current camera angle... it's the background that might feel just a little, teenie, tiny, itty, bitty, very slightly, and almost non-perceptibly, bit off.:)

07 July 2009, 09:39 PM (

An update. Seems like there's just soo much to do, and so little time. Anyway, I'm not too sure about the colour of her shirt and underwear... probably will change during the course of the week.

07 July 2009, 09:50 PM
Renderspud: Thanks for the suggestions. I'll give the seperate background pass a try.

07 July 2009, 11:29 PM
I love how this is coming - her face, the whole concept, the low camera angle, it's all great! I hope you've only temporarily hidden the book/computer and the priest peeking through the window and not removed them altogether - I love both of them. Good luck with all of the texturing and lighting!

07 July 2009, 06:13 AM
I would suggest that her undershirt and wear be black, but I think that would blend in far too much with your current background. So maybe a similar color to her ...nun..hat...thing. Yeah.

07 July 2009, 06:51 AM
walrus: Thanks for your comments!! As for the priest, and the book (well it's gonna be a pretty big bible), they are gonna be there. They are one of the key elements in the story. I've just hidden them temporarily.

FalyneVarger: Thanks for the suggestion!!

07 July 2009, 07:35 AM
Hey Michor,

Really cool concept, like a lot ! A very original and unique idea. The pose and expression for the the girl is totally cool and the lighting stage looks nice. Great work!! Waiting for more updates! Cheers!!

07 July 2009, 10:46 AM

an outstanding work so far. I like the facial expression, the model, materials and the lighting looks superb so far. The only thing i don't like is the upper left corner of the image. The two lines of the wall leads the view of the viewer there, but there is just nothing. This empty corner of the ceiling looks not well composed. Maybe you want to hide it by shadows or place cobwebs there or something like that.

so long

07 July 2009, 11:29 AM
Ferx: Thanks for the comments man!!

DarkBlueArt: Thanks for the crits and suggestions. I'll darken the corner when I reach the comping stage.

07 July 2009, 03:20 PM
i am loving this mate .. really cool. i was going for the whole death of the secret agents girl thing like your first idea but couldnt make it work so settled on a different idea like you... cant wait to see more

07 July 2009, 03:23 PM
Nice update, it is going to be cool

07 July 2009, 11:24 PM
dude! this is looking realy good!n she is even hotter in colour. whatever you do, dont stop. dude!

07 July 2009, 11:09 PM
Looking great!
I guess it would be moot for me to comment that the shadow on her thigh is low in samples...
can't wait for more texture... great WIP.

07 July 2009, 01:52 AM
Wow...looks great...lets se how this ends!

07 July 2009, 06:23 PM
Thanks a lot guys. Your comments are all appreciated.

07 July 2009, 07:46 PM
So it is unusual, but very cool!
the model is great

07 July 2009, 07:56 PM
 very nice model man. Good luck!

07 July 2009, 08:15 PM
WOW! Fantastic modeling...very well smoothed forms and great posing. Looking foward...good luck:buttrock:

07 July 2009, 08:55 PM
Great idea and good composition. Your work is my favorite!
I waiting for more updates.

07 July 2009, 08:49 AM
I love this nun! Models and camera angle are perfect!

07 July 2009, 08:57 AM
very good concept...i like the post....

07 July 2009, 12:18 PM

07 July 2009, 05:47 PM
Thanks a lot you guys!! Really appreciate it. You guys rock!!! :)

07 July 2009, 02:45 AM
Great concept! It tells a story and that's the most important thing...Great work man

07 July 2009, 11:57 AM
Beautiful modeling. I love that dramatic lighting also - not sure you'll use it final scene tough. But it looks great even now!

07 July 2009, 06:40 PM
VirtualArts, Kerem: Thanks for the comments guys!!!

07 July 2009, 09:35 AM
realy nice idea, nice atmosphere :]
can you show charachters wireframe ? Thx!

07 July 2009, 03:42 PM
Good Idea !
I m waiting ...

My challenge post (

07 July 2009, 04:54 PM
Cool concept. Can't wait for the texturing. Something about a nun with a gun is hot.

07 July 2009, 07:21 PM
really really nice piece !
great mood and nice sculpt !

07 July 2009, 08:58 PM
WWOOOW, this one is F.. Great man!!. I now that itīs not finished and all but I love the idea, the face expression of the girl is perfect, and the place you put the camera feels right too. Wanna see the final render!.

07 July 2009, 02:33 PM (

For those that would like to see my base mesh/wire frame. I'm currently rendering with a decimated (using decimation master) hi poly mesh. Normally, I would retopologise for a cleaner, animation friendly mesh but since there's no need for animation, it's really pointless.

07 July 2009, 02:38 PM (

Latest update. There's still some gadgets I want to add and also solve the background. I might change colours here and there, and add more to the textures. I'll have to see if I have the time. Crits and suggestions welcome.

07 July 2009, 02:39 PM
daks, JiDy, jonathanclark, Alouette, dimat: Thanks guys!! Appreciate your comments!! :)

07 July 2009, 03:01 PM
it pleasure to follow your thread.great work!

07 July 2009, 08:14 PM
Amazing concept! The monk in the back adds so much story to the picture. Great job!

07 July 2009, 09:42 PM
Nice job...this is one of the most original ones.!

07 July 2009, 06:44 PM
Irawan, Srulik24, melkao: thanks guys!!!

07 July 2009, 07:34 PM
Hey Michor, this is awesome!
everything is perfect

07 July 2009, 09:02 PM
Hey Michor
It looks great. Any additional subtle textures would be great.. for the foreground bedhseets etc....
I still feel your shadows don't have enough samples... they look rather grainy... it would be good to check that out (if you haven't already).
cheers'n' good luck!

oh and I'd love some feedback on my challenge too if you have the time.

07 July 2009, 10:04 PM
Good stuff :) The soft lighting fits the scene very well. Now, add some more textures please!

07 July 2009, 01:07 PM
overall image is very beautiful , lighting modeling and composition , I'm sure you have some lighting idea to show us , the 2 candle in background can add more interesting mood to image , goodluck!

07 July 2009, 06:12 PM
alshakno: Thanks again for popping by. Really appreciate it!

ajitmenon: Thanks for comments and suggestions, the shadow samples will be addressed when I do final renders. Right now I just need previews that are as fast as possible.

MartinNielsen: Thanks!!!

monsitj: Thanks for dropping by, and the suggestion.

07 July 2009, 03:01 PM
very realistic modeling. awesome lighting. keep it up.

WOODAN ..... the secret agent (

07 July 2009, 04:34 PM
awesome..! although i don't think you're using the corners of the image enough. everything is happening in a little part in the center of the image atm. but maybe you have plans for that.

07 July 2009, 08:23 AM (

Did a bit of colour grading and cropped it a bit. Only 10 days to go. :(

07 July 2009, 08:27 AM
apumia: Thanks man!!

fellah: Thanks for the crit. Really appreciate it.

07 July 2009, 04:11 PM
Michor, this is looking fantastic! I've been on holiday, so I've missed the WIP, but it is such a treat to see the nearly finished thing. The best of luck with this.

07 July 2009, 10:52 AM
Hahaha awesome concept, and a nun in underwear oh yeah!
Love it, can't wait to see it finished.

07 July 2009, 12:50 PM
I love this one. Itīs looking really good. Great sculpting, great materials, great mood. I donīt like the bold guy in the back but itīs my opinion. If you can, I would like your professional opinion on my post as well.

08 August 2009, 07:46 AM (

Almost there... Just need to fix up a few things here and there and I'll be done.

08 August 2009, 07:56 AM
RogerNobs: Thanks for dropping by!!! Appreciate the support. I'm looking forward to your entry.

DavidSmit: Thanks!!! Your stuff is looking great!!

dimat: Thanks for your crit!! Unfortunately, the priest plays a key role in the picture. I can't really ditch him. But if it helps, added hair to him... so he's no longer bold :)

08 August 2009, 08:42 AM
really nice thread you have here.. good luck :D

08 August 2009, 11:49 AM
Hey Mic !

Yes almost done , and it's really cool , the textures and lighting are excellent !

Looking forward for the final input !

cheers ,

08 August 2009, 02:41 PM
Mic , I like this entry a lot, the idea tells me secret agent! Very unconventional.
Not sure what needs to be done on it byt your book, but it the square corners on that character left are bothering me. The sink(?), window edge and cabinet(?) are fighting with the character.
Keep it coming. a few more days

08 August 2009, 03:04 PM
Hi Mic,you did a good job, only few days left and you are almost done, good luck!!!

08 August 2009, 03:37 PM
Looking good. I think the scene could use a little more contrast, but I'm sure u'll get there in final post processing.:)

08 August 2009, 06:12 PM
Here expression is so cool..nice ligthing.

08 August 2009, 07:02 PM
tenerh: Thanks!!

Zapan: Thanks!!! Looking forward to your entry.

smallone3d: Thanks for your input! Really appreciate it. Regarding, the square corners, I guess I should tone it down in post. There's not much I could do at this stage, other than keep this in mind for future projects. Composition is one of my weakest points, so any kind of crit regarding this area would be great. Thanks again.

diissar: Thanks man!!! You're doing really good yourself.

ajitmenon: Thanks for the crit. I'll probably push the background to be a little darker to give the character more attention.

melkao: Thanks for stopping by!!

08 August 2009, 10:14 PM (

Story: A secret agent is on a mission and infiltrates a church as a nun. Since she is really beautiful, the perverted priest decides to do a little peeping while she is changing. Not only does he see her in her underwear, he sees other things as well.

I'm having a lot of trouble uploading my final hi rez image using the uploader. Don't know what to do :-(

I just want to say thanks to everyone for their support! You guys gave me a lot of feedback that helped me push it this far.

Anyway, I just got back from my mini vacation and I'm really glad the final hi rez managed to get through. It was a last minute thing and my friend helped me upload it just after I left. I also forgot to tell her to type in the credit sources so I'm going to do that now (if that's OK?).

I made use of several textures from the site: (

Thanks and Good luck to everyone that made it.

you killed all rough 3d rendering, and it came out very illustrative in the end, i really like it A LOT!

and yeah PRETTY SEXY, she is my favorite if they decide to make some kind of a beauty secret agent pageant :P

Great final...very original work...good luck

Hi there, great work! :D

Really nice face and body expression! only thing that keeps bugging me is that it really seems you rendered it in layers, and somehow that can be seen, by a thin black line around the main character. Maybe it wasn't and in that casa, i believe its the lighting in the background that may be a little bit dull, and does not help at its full extent to the image expectation!

But, indeed, its a nice composition, and nice execution too, good luck :D****

Thanks for your support guys!!! I really appreciate it. If you guys didn't continue to give feedback, I probably would have given up half way.

Madail: Thanks for pointing that out. I didn't realise it until you pointed it out. Anyway, I went back to my hirez version trying to see where the blackout line is (since I was pretty sure I used the "Remove Black matte" in PS on my layers) and well... I didn't seem to find it (maybe it's there but not sooo noticeable  ). Anyway, I tried to figure out what the cause was and figured that different methods of resizing creates different results. It seems to me that this site resizes the images using a bicubic algorithm and is probably the cause of the black outlines. I attached an image below to show the difference between the the bilinear (left) and bicubic (right) versions when I scaled the image down. Anyway, I needed to render in layers because my PC can't handle large scenes. And thanks for your comments.

I am by no means an expert at this kind of stuff, so if I am talking rubbish, then please correct me. :)
