View Full Version : Vue PLE 7.5 released
06-10-2009, 01:52 PM
I am seeing the PLE was released.
What is this a limited version of 7.5 or what.
Could you enlighten me?

Well both the Ozone and 7.5 won't even install on my MacPro so I can't tell ya :hmm:
I believe they are just watermarked renders, not limited in any way.

Yeah! A thing is worth trying out !
Seems like working faster (compared with 7.21), playing with it half an hour:
viewports AND rendering, though can't test with existing scenes (limitation of PLE)
And - Of course - NEW FEATURES! Nice!

Thank you for the information.
Are you able to create and save files that you create in PLE?
I understand that you will not be able to open existing files.

Well, that's how its done :
Just tried to open existing files... (and actually, was surprised) it works (i.e. SOME files could be opened) !
(Rendered out, of course, with Vue7 logo at the right bottom corner).
And i got longer render time for (old scenes only?), though a rather acceptable time for the scenes created in PLE (namely with spectral clouds and procedural terrains, actually
as it was stated about some optimizations in render engine of vue7.5).
Anyway, 'ts sweet... .

I think everything works it's just watermarked. This pic is 37,000,000 polys. It took less than 10 mins to render.

i have also been testing vue 7.5 for some time now. i am not sure if it is just me but it seems like to be slower to render.
i rendered a very huge scene both in vue 7 and in 7.5. the result was that the 7.5 were 17 seconds slower than the previous version.
also i am feeling that the stability is lesser than 7.0
another thing that bugs me, is the batchrender, it still doesn't work. neither does the network render.
but guys don't get me wrong, i love this software besides the small bugs it works beautifully.
i like especially the new planetary function, that allows you to create a whole planet.
