View Full Version : mia_material_x_passes glitch

Has anyone else had an issue with the mia_material_x_passes rendering black chunks? I'm using it with a "chrome" preset and for some reason random parts of the geometries with the shader turn black, like it's not picking up any reflections or displaying diffuse.

If I use the mia_material or mia_material_x with the same "chrome" preset it works fine. All the render settings and shader settings are exactly the same, minus the fact that one is a passes shader and the others aren't.

i read somewhere its a bug, can anyone confirm please?

I think that is a bug on a shadow and a bug on a photon. For the photons you must ins a mia_material_x on the shadinggroup custom shader PhotonShader for the shadow, i have no problems with the mia_material_x on the shadow shader slot, Tha mia_material_x have the same attribute of the _mia_material_x_passes.
Anyway, i've been tested the passes, only now, from 3 days :)

Thanks Mike! I actually was a bit confused at first because I'm already running service pack 1, but I just noticed that apparently they updated it again since I installed it. Time to download the new version again! :buttrock:

No problem.
I haven't installed it, so I can't guarantee that it'll fix the issue, but it sure sounded like the same problem I'd been hearing about.
