View Full Version : Robo Ball - my first animation

I thought I would try my hand at character animation today, and this is what I came up with. I have animated in other capacities as you may know, like exploding cars, and other things that are mostly just reactions to fluids and other effects. But this is my first attempt at actually bringing a character to life. I hate curve editors, and I am glad that I found someone to learn from who doesnt use them. Consequently this animation is done without ever opening the curve editor, purely eyeballing it. I did this in 3D Studio Max and added a little post in Fusion and After Effects. Let me know what you think, and tell me whether or not this is even worthy to be called animation.

Here are two more attempts. One he is really nervous from electrical surges and at the end gets electrocuted and shuts down. The second he walks up to a baord, taps it, and then jumps over it.
